I came in asking for about 15 inches of hair to be cut off. The 1st stylist I worked with cut off 22 inches of hair, far more than I asked to be cut(as if 18 inches wasn't enough!). I asked for a choppy/layered cut with vibrant purple hair. Not all salons do purple dye, so I specifically asked if this was achievable.I said I'd prefer black over red if it was going to lean one way or the other. During the consult she said she was going to do a color remover and different demi colors throughout my hair so she would be charging for a color correct. She didn't do a color remover, didn't do multiple colors, yet still charged for a color correct. She did a blunt cut with one weird area in the back that was ruined with texture scissors. She didn't let me look at the back before leaving, now I know why. My hair was auburn, not purple. After speaking with a manager I was assured the color was achievable and they'd fix the cut. She used the exact same demi color and said doing it a second time would be more purple. I still have auburn hair and she knew I still wasn't happy when I left, my words were "it's fine". Don't take clients if you don't carry the color they're asking for, don't charge for a color correct if you're just doing an all over demi. First and second color visits in photos Edit: In response I get a list of excuses. My hair has never been box dyed nor box bleached. It has never been fully bleached ever. It was previously colored but when they showed me the book I said it looked very red, they assured me it would be fine, I was hoping the swatch was off from the true color, but it wasn't. I came back and again got the same excuse, they used the same color that was very red because that was the closest to purple you carry. Instead of doing the professional thing, admitting you don't carry demi permanent purple, you hoped I wouldn't say anything. This has absolutely nothing to do with my previous color and everything to do with the colors carried. Almost every inch that's remaining was virgin hair, the ends had been previously colored but that was cut off. Regardless, it wasn't what I asked for, you don't carry demi permanent purple, and if your stylists aren't capable of doing something they shouldn't claim they can. Not to mention the fact that nobody asked them to do it in one sitting. Almost $400 for red hair and the wrong cut is never acceptable, nor is your list of poor excuses. At my consultation I was very clear what had been done to my hair previously and there's no mystery as to what products were used. I can list each and every product that has touched my hair. There's also the fact that I was clear that I can't use coconut oil in my hair and she sold me a coconut oil based product. When I spoke to the manager he said "I saw your hair when you were here and the results you're asking for should have been very achievable". Again, it doesn't matter what previous color I had, you don't carry the purple I asked for so the stylist should have made it clear during the consultation it wasn't possible. There's also absolutely no excuse for what she did to the back of my hair, which I'm going to attempt to add to this post. I wasn't going to post it to save your company the embarrassment but now I think people...
Read moreI am new to the area and was recommended to Impressions. I went for hair color and cut and thought it was pretty good. I was looking for a salon for my bridal party for nails and hair so I contacted them. Evana was really nice and provided all of the information. I didn't have a lot of time to look elsewhere, so I booked mani/pedis with them on the Friday before the wedding and then hair/make-up on Saturday for the wedding. My bridal trial for hair went really well, I loved my hair and it held up through the bachelorette party. The make-up experience was so-so, the first time she did it I didn't like it so it was re-done but seemed rushed, I was told a bride was coming in to get her make-up done after me. I get it, but this is my only shot to see how it will look and I'm paying for it. By the end of the night, the make-up made me look like I was in drag so I cancelled my make-up at the salon and decided to do it myself. The mani/pedi's happen toward the back of the salon, except that they took one girl off somewhere else away from everyone to get hers done, it was really weird. They then had a random customer at the middle table for a manicure right in the middle of our group. I get that the techs have stations, but when you are having a group, it might be best to schedule around that for other customers. We sure weren't comfortable and I bet that customer wasn't either.
The next day I came in for my hair and I could tell something was off with my stylist. She did my hair but it didn't look the same as the trial. It was okay, and we didn't really have time so we left. There were quite a few other weddings at the salon at the same time we were, another wedding party was set-up where I was getting my hair done, and my bridal party was nowhere near me - it was kind of depressing since you are supposed to be getting hyped up. I was feeling really sick so it would have been nice to be around people I knew. The girls came over after they were all done. Before I even got to the church, all of the curls were falling out. I got there and tried to re-curl and there were so many products in my hair that it barely curled anymore. I had two long straight pieces right in front, it was really disappointing. I had to try to re-curl my hair again at the reception, such a pain. I'm happy I did my own make-up.
Everyone who works here is really nice, but I was surprised that we didn't get any kind of deal for all of the business we gave the salon. We had 7 mani's and 7 pedi's on Friday, and had 8 get their hair done and 1 get make-up done on Saturday. I had been in the salon almost weekly a month leading up to the wedding with waxing services twice, hair color/cut, mani's and pedi's a month before, and never got any mention of packages or anything that would save me a little money. I've decided to seek out other salon options for my salon services...
Read moreApologies for the bad lighting, dirty mirror, and messy hair (this was taken the day after it was styled). I needed my hair done for graduation soon and Gabrielle somehow fit me in her schedule. I had a quick consult with her and explained that my previous hair stylist messed up my hair in many ways that I did not like. She went over what we could do and set the appointment. The appointment itself was a long process but very worth it. I went in for a color correction and it came out exactly how i wanted, there was slightly off-color blonde parts but that was from the previous dye-job so I donât blame her. The service they give at Impressions is phenomenal, they even offer snacks or drinks and they have a huge selection of clothes, jewelry, and accessories to look at and buy. For the price that I paid.. I still think it was VERY worth it especially when I needed it most. I thought it was great how I was her âprojectâ and she got lots of people involved in the process and loving how the transformation was. Gabrielle did an amazing job and I definitely would recommend her AND that salon to anyone!! For a one time experience, I loved it there and all of the people are sweet...
