We found what appeared to be a good sectional on their floor and decided to go forward with the purchase. after having little to very late assistance in picking it up the second trip we were assisted by some very smartA$$ warehouse people to help us load the last piece. Upon getting it home and into better lighting we noticed that the piece was completely covered by small black (I think) dog hair.
Upon taking the covers off the pillows to clean them we noticed that the inner casement to the pillows were ripped and the stuffing was pouring out everywhere.
We called and asked what the policy was on this and after getting told we would have to talk to our salesman (by the way we were NOT helped by a salesman, we were then told that we needed to have the piece professionally cleaned and that we should have NOT taken the covers off ourselves! Weird they made these little things called zippers on them! And why the little tags that tell you how to wash?
We were treated poorly and then sold a piece we need to put money into in order to get it to where it should be in the first place!
If I wanted to PAY MORE than buying it directly from someone else, just to have to then pay to fix it..... Well any way you probably understand I am NOT happy.
Added after comment from store:
I admit you may have miss-understood, but lack of understanding does not make it ok to simply say that there is not a policy for these kind of issues, You have our number. .. The inside of the pillows were NOT washed, ofcourse.... and each of them had to be repaired by hand. Additionally we are having the piece that cannot be washed (in the washer professionally shampooed. (Pet Hair) This is NOT cheap and we would expect that we would be told of any issues upon purchase NOT finding it out ourselves. After I did fully explain there is STILL NO RESOLVE, by you or your staff. ...
Read moreI recently purchased a complete “brand new” living room set w/ an additional sofa from CFB. The pieces came defective. Seams were all crazy. The couch cushion seams would come down straight & veer to the left. The loveseat had a knife slit. The recliner had factory stitching that was ripped out and re-sewn, leaving the holes from the machine visible, etc.
Upon notifying them of the condition, I was met with an attitude from the owner John/Dave. He was extremely rude and unprofessional on the phone, and ignored my emails.
Moving forward.
I went in at Johns/Dave’s request to “pick out the best set that he had.” I found this an odd business practice, but obliged.
His employee opened two loveseats and BOTH were damaged. This process took nearly two hours, as I was told they were in a warehouse a cross the street. When the first one arrived, it had a visible hole in the arm straight out of the box. So, I wait again with my three children, as they go grab the second. To their surprise, it’s missing the back center piece. John/Dave then stops the process and claims it’s me and “my OCD.” He made that remark three times from start to finish. The truth is he refused to proceed to eliminate further humiliation for himself.
John/Dave kept $600 of my money from my refund because he couldn’t produce a quality, defect free set of furniture for me. This is despicable. He, nor his employee that sold the furniture to me disclosed the fact that the furniture was factory seconds. What kind of man does business in this manner? I’m a single mom with three special needs children and he belittled me, faulted me and then told me that this was all I could expect at “this price point.” Seriously? I hope others in the community treats his family better then he treated mine.
