When I moved into this 55+ community two and a half years ago, it was a welcoming, vibrant park with a true resort-style atmosphere. Unfortunately, since the change in management a little over a year ago, the overall environment has declined noticeably.
Community Events & Activities The activities committee, supported by current management, has created an unwelcoming environment. Management has been openly dismissive—even rude—toward residents who raise concerns about the committee’s performance. Events are poorly organized, and food gatherings are particularly disappointing (at the last barbecue, all the hamburgers and hot dogs were burnt). Many residents now feel excluded, which has led to extremely low participation. By comparison, nearby 55+ parks host well-run events such as bingo, concerts, and comedy shows that draw large crowds, while our community often sees fewer than 20 attendees out of 350 - 400 homes.
Resident Council The Resident Council has become essentially non-functional under current management and the activities committee. This council is meant to provide residents with representation and a collective voice in community decisions. Its inability to operate effectively has left residents without meaningful input on how the park is managed.
Electrical System The community’s outdated electrical infrastructure remains a serious concern. Homes are still limited to 100-amp service, which restricts the safe use of modern appliances. Because power is metered through the park rather than directly with SRP (Salt River Project), residents cannot open individual accounts or benefit from SRP’s rate plans. As a result, we are forced to pay higher utility costs, with no indication of planned upgrades to 200-amp service or direct SRP accounts.
Conclusion This 55+ community has the potential to be outstanding once again. It previously held a resort designation for good reason, and with capable management, reinvestment in infrastructure, and restoration of a functional Resident Council, it could return to being a thriving, welcoming community. Until those changes occur, however, many residents, myself included, remain deeply disappointed in the current direction...
Read moreUPDATE!! Now on our 3rd park manager since new ownership. Still no activities person, they just opened some amenities with major restrictions despite everything in the state wide open. Despite being a "gated" community the gates are STILL non functional!! Every excuse as to why not working including removing the gated community status from their website. Owners have brought NUMEROUS complaints to new owners and management and they're ignored. Everything from homeless staying in community, lack of park rules being followed nor enforced, violence and crime due to open gates. Personally it's beginning to feel like a family park instead of age qualified based on the young people in this park. Since ownership a year ago I would say at least 50 or more long term residents and winter visitors have sold and moved...should make management wonder why!
The new owners (Treehouse Communities) is beyond horrible! This is 3rd owner in a little over 2 years. The new park manager is rude, abrasive in communication, extremely difficult to get ahold of...only talk via text or a do not reply email where her communication skills are seriously lacking, blames residents for pool pump going out, has taken trash pickup away, etc. Shes only part time and doesn't live in park. We're supposedly a gated community yet since Treehouse took over the gates have been non operational more than they've worked. Get nothing but excuses from them IF you can reach someone. For a 55+ plus park we're treated like children! Lots of amenities IF she'd open them up and hire an activities person again. Lots of nice folks who live here, shame management and Treehouse don't care about us cuz this use to be and can be...
Read moreWe are a 55+ community. Legacy has been contacted many times over our on site manager. Everyone is supposed to have a clean background check. Our onsite manager moved her 51 year old felon boyfriend into our park. We also have an illegal living here. She curses at people with complaints , suggest and or concerns. We have many people not returning, merely because of her! Our contact at Legacy refuses to do anything about her. We have the most friendly community, yet it is rapidly declining due to lack of over site. After I raised issues at our public meeting, many people came up and thanked me as they are terrified of her, as she is retaliatory. There also is no reconciliation of all the cash taken in from our various events. If we attend an event, why can’t this be added to our monthly bill. The fact that Andrew from Legacy comes and talks and placates the situation is really appalling! Nothing is done!!! They state there is free WiFi for residents. Not done. They state there is a FT activity director. Not so. I really dislike having to resort to this public forum, but truly see no other options at this point. Do your homework before moving a Legacy property. They are arrogant and placating! Quite...
