17 days from purchase to install. I received ZERO calls from my Slangin salesman to keep me informed, I had to call Slangin 4 times to get status. There was no follow through or proactive communication throughout my entire experience.
2/19/25 went to Slangin and was informed that the sooner I pay the sooner I can get the install. That makes sense. Wednesday 2/19/25 I make the purchase and the discussion was that if I completed the sale that day we would target Tuesday 2/25 for the installation because there was a part they had to order. But not to worryā¦.the worse case scenario would result in an install date of 3/1/25. I asked if he would call me Monday 2/24 and give me status. NO CALL on 2/24 so I called him to be informed that this part is coming all the way from Atlanta and no itās not in but we should have it by Friday 2/28. Once again told me he would call me with an update. NO CALL on 2/28 so I called him to be informed that maybe the part would be by Monday 3/3 and that he would call me to let me know if the part came in, the vendor is really slow and the part has to come all the way from Atlanta. So we scheduled the install for Tuesday 3/4/2025 NO CALL on 3/3 so I called him to be told the part is not in, again itās coming all the way from Atlanta, but maybe it would come in with the FedEx shipments by 11am on 3/4/25 so we agree to not cancel the 3/4/25 appointment..just in case. You guessed it NO CALL on Tuesday 3/4/25 either. So I called around 11am to be told once again the part was not in but it would be in no later than Friday (it takes awhile because itās coming all the way from Atlanta šš³) and that once the part was in he would deliver it to the installation location. So we re-scheduled the install for Saturday 3/8/25 On 3/8/25 I go to the install location to be told they didnāt have me scheduled, so she called Trevor. And Trevor had scheduled my install under a Honda and I drive a Nissan. Once that got cleared up I heard her tell him he still needed to bring the part to them. What????? She then told me the install would be done end of business that day. I asked what time āend of businessā was she said 6pm. I called at 3pm to get status She said oh was that a full system install? I said not sure what that means but it is a deck and 4 door speakers. She then tried to tell me āfull systems can take up to 2 days, I told you thatā to which I quickly responded āno you did NOT, you actually confirmed EOB was 6pmā she said uh will you hold please. She comes back and said ok yah we can have it done by EOB I came back at 5:30, got my car took it home and there is static in the speakers. Which Iām pretty sure means expose wires, loose wires or something that doesnāt represent a professional install.
Needless to say this was an extremely disappointing $1,250 purchase/experience. There is a lifetime warranty on the install so I will have to go back to see if they can fix...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEDIT *yes I came in prior for another quote but what I'm talking about is the quote I was given on the 4/20 sale dates. I was given a quote and paid for more for less without being told anything in the slightest. But at this point I will be reaching out to the GM and further. I have been having to jump through hoops for your warranty swap because I was told by skotty that "we don't keep sales in our records for the 4/20 sale" which is incredibly sketchy and probably illegal as hell. During the inspection of my sub that died, more parts were broken in my vehicle (2009) and they're not even attempting to be easy and take care of these parts that I JUST REPLACED BECAUSE THEY BROKE THEM THE FIRST TIME, they all know we signed a waiver saying that they aren't liable for broken parts in older vehicles so they absolutely don't care what they mess up or destroy. And I'm still waiting almost 4 months now for my replacement sub that's "on back order" * END OF EDIT *
I've been going here since 2010 but after this last install, sadly won't be returning.
Went in a couple months before their 4/20 sale to get some prices on a package for my car and was quoted $2,100 for a smaller package that included a 500w amp and then a $2,400 package that included a 1,000w amp for the sub. Debated on what I wanted to go with and then as the sale came up I figured I'd go see if it was possible to save a small amount more of some cash.
Well instead I paid more for less equipment. Paid $2,400 for the 500w amp package, didn't know, and wasn't told I was downgraded to "meet your $2,400 budget" by Scottie, until I had got home to store my package away until install, called them to see about the mix up and that's when they told me about that.
Come the install, wiring and mounting was done great..... however my rear passenger door would no longer lock, called to ask about it and was just told "well we never worked on that". But they were willing to "look at it" the following day, I didn't want to waste any time so I took apart the door myself and fixed it, as I was taking the door apart, there were multiple clips snapped in half and stuff just now hanging out that was never like that prior. Come today as I'm sanding my car down for a repaint, the driver rear door wasn't installed back on properly with a 1" gap between the window and interior seal and the door handle bolt was barley even screwed in at all.
Extremely let down. Be extremely careful when getting your packages and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI purchased a 12 inch kicker subwoofer, 4 Rockford Fosgate door speakers, an amplifier, and a wiring kit with install. Maybe an okay place to buy your equipment, but do not have it installed by Slangin. My subwoofer and its wires were getting too hot and started smoking and melting the wires, even with the bass knob turned down. I went back to Slangin multiple times to have it fixed, only to have the same or similar issues reoccur after getting replacement parts (and āupgradedā equipment). The technicians would often discredit what other technicians had said, and then find another inaccurate diagnosis. When I finally decided to stop wasting my time with their poor technicians and went to a reputable installer, they were quickly able to diagnose the issue. Slangin sold me a wiring kit that was not suitable for my power requirements, and that had been causing all of the previous issues. However, Slangin did not want to rewire the entire vehicle and kept trying to replace other parts unsuccessfully. Save yourself the time and headaches. Technicians seem to be extremely unprofessional, and youāll have a hard time finding one that is sober and coherent.
As for customer service, Scottie Karate will say anything to make a sale. He will then find excuses when the cost is not what he claimed it would be. Then Chad Jessee will try to discredit anybody who leaves a somewhat negative review online. Iām sure he will respond to this and claim they helped me or that I am not even a real customer. You will see many examples of this in these reviews and other sites as well. It is clear that Slangin is an extremely unprofessional business all around.
Please do yourself a favor and find a reputable installer to work with. Youāll end up saving your money and time.
Edit: I knew they would respond and try to discredit my review, but they are now attacking another business for no reason. Extremely shady. I am not affiliated with the company they named or any other company. The install was done on a 2010 Nissan Altima and should be in your records. Slangin management would rather spend their time arguing with reviewers than working on the real issues in the...
