Normally I would not write this type of review, however I have been coming to your location for the last 6 years and had the absolute worst experience tonight. Tonight was your annual Halloween party which we have been going to for the last 6 years since LIVING in the neighborhood with several families from our neighborhood. We have always been told that as long as we come in by a certain time, minors are permitted. Tonight I brought my 3 month old child. At the entrance, I was not stopped or instructed that I was not permitted to bring my child in. There was also no signage stating otherwise. I did not think anything of it as this has been the custom for the last 6 years. Around 10pm, I went to the restroom. I was followed into the restroom by your employee and harassed the entire time. From the start to the finish she told me I was not welcome and that I needed to leave immediately as children were not permitted. I was not drunk, belligerent, or rude. My child was asleep the entire time and not crying or making a fuss. I let her know that I was not trying to break any rules and that I simply needed to use the restroom and would be leaving immediately. The entire time I peed, in addition to washing my hands, she continued to harass me and tell me how much I was not welcome. I left the restroom when I was done and proceeded to load my child in the stroller. This woman did not even give me 5 minutes to load my child into the stroller before following me out of the restroom and continued to harass me, telling me that I needed to leave immediately. As I mentioned before, I've been coming to your location for 6 years and have never been treated this way. None of our waiters, the entire evening mentioned any problems with us. If these are the type of employees that you will be hiring in the future, we will no longer be going to your location as I personally would not like to be harassed to the degree that I was tonight, which, is rather unfortunate because we used to really enjoy going to your bar. This is no longer the friendly bar that it once was. I understand that customer service is a difficult job and thus I did not argue or treat this woman with disrespect. I don't mind following the rules and even told the woman this. The problem I have is how I was treated with an extreme amount of disrespect despite me being very respectful...
Read moreThis place is AWFUL! My husband, two of his friends, and myself decided to grab some dinner on Friday 3/24. We knew it was going to be crowded so we grabbed a table in the bar area and only waited about 5 minutes until our waitress "Caleb" (Not sure if this was her real name or not) showed up, literally THREW the menus at us and said she would be back. She came back a little while later, got our drink and food orders. She had NO idea what she was doing. She brought our beers and that was the last we saw of her for almost forty-five minutes!! Finally my husband went looking for her and could not find her... she then strolled in with a piece of cake in her hand. My husband inquired about our food and it was then that she told us the fish fry wasn't available. We then asked her why she waited forty-five minutes to let us know one of our orders wasn't going to come and she just shrugged her shoulders, said "You know we're really busy I have a birthday party of 40 people outside" and then proceeded to shove cake in her mouth. It was then that we asked to see the manager, "Caleb" rolled her eyes and went to get him. Things got even worse when the manager came over. He immediately blamed us for being upset and waved his hands around like we couldn't see the place was packed. One of my friends told him that the last time he was there the same girl was his waitress and she was garbage then as well. He then started to apologize as soon as we told him we would never be coming back to the Monastery and would make sure we told all our friends how terrible they had been to us. He offered us $5 off our drinks. We declined and asked for the check for our drinks. He brought the tablet over for us to pay and "Caleb" had charged us for 2 extra drinks we never even ordered! The idiot manager had to try four different times until my husband finally said "Look at our table! There are 4 of us here and we have only been served ONE drink. How many drinks do you see?" Then the manager finally figured it out. We finally left and made sure to tell patrons on the way out about the issues. We will NEVER step foot on this...
Read moreThe monastery itself was awesome, and I had a great time, but the service provided by staff was horrid enough to warrant a less than excellent review.
Positives first: A beautiful spacious yard with lots of activities and places to get drunk. Nearly a hundred taps, great beer selection! Dogs are allowed in, so you'll make new furry friends. Good fries (details on this experience later)
Negative: The serving and bartending staff were definitely not on their A-game. They tabs for each of my two friends I was with (or so we thought). Friend one's tab had margaritas and food on it, 30$ worth if thing she did NOT order. When she politely explained this to the bartenders, the man (I'm assuming manager-- bald, glasses, grumpy) wasn't patient and did not attend to the problem. He said he needed to fix it, walked away, continued serving people, and several minutes later came back to ask again what she had actually had. He snapped at the female bartender who was trying to help us as if it was her fault there was an issue. When it was finally fixed he set the tab booklet down in front of us forgettable. We did not get an apology or even an acknowledgement that they cared about our business. Disappointing.
Friend two went to close her tab afterward and they DIDN'T even have her tab on file. So they asked what she had and re-rang it, and asked for her card again to charge her. Again this was the grouchy bald man, so we had no semblance of customer service being offered to us. No apology for the mistake or thank you for coming in.
Lastly, earlier in the night I ordered food and it never came to me. I had to ask another bartender what happened to the man who took my order and when I would get my fries, at least this man was kind when he apologized and said they were given away to another customer. They put my order in again and after about 25 minutes of total wait time, I got the fries. The fries were 100% worth the wait, super tasty; salty,...
