My friend Dan and I played this jewel of a course on Tuesday September 25, 2018. It's important to realize I have no financial ties to this course and was just passing through Mesquite.
Dan and I used to play golf at lots of conferences in the past and we wanted to have a couple of hours of fun.
Coyote Willows is a magnificent 9-hole course perfect for the occasional golfer that wants to get tremendous value. If you're going to compare different Mesquite golf courses, then do it on a cost-per-hole analysis.
Dan and I played 9 holes, we rented clubs, we both bought a bag of 12 golf balls, we rented a cart and the TOTAL PRICE for everything was $81.
That means my total cost was $40.50. Divide that by 9 and you get $4.50 per hole. The hotel concierge at the Eureka Resort told us that other courses in Mesquite have greens fees of $125 and that doesn't include all the things we got. You'd be paying $6.94 per hole just for the privilege to tee up. Always do the math.?
It gets better.
If you want to double your fun and play 18 holes now that you know where to hit your ball, the REPLAY cost is just $10. I wish I could clone Coyote Willows and drop the cloned copy one half mile from my house in New Hampshire!
The course was in amazing shape for being in the desert. I actually think the name of the course should be changed to Golf with the Goddesses as all the women who work at the clubhouse are beautiful and friendly.
We got to talk with Laura Findley, the Golf Shop Manager, when we came back in from the last hole. I had eight balls left over from my bag of 12 and told her to give them as a gift to another golfer who would come in the door.
There may be fancier courses in Mesquite but I GUARANTEE you if you pay five times more to play you'll not have five times the fun. Hole number eight will rip your heart out. Play LEFT on that hole the entire way.
NOTE TO SELF: Remind partner of the golfers code to always check the name on the ball before hitting another golfer's 265-yard drive down the center of...
Read moreCoyote Willows Golf Course has been recently purchased by CW Investment Group, LLC. The course has been in a bankruptcy situation and has been ran by a volunteer homeowners group for the last 7 years on limited funds.
CW Investment Group, LLC has been working on improving the course and welcome all previous golfers back for a new look. The course will still have some bumps and bruises in it until we get everything where we would like it, but for now it is a fun, family friendly, nine hole course at a nine hole price.
Check out our added attraction: Hole Number 3 has two tee boxes for the golfer who wishes to play a Par 5 hole or a Par 4 hole. Each tee box on Hole 3 has different tee boxes for your level of play. If playing 18 holes you can alternate the tee box on this hole. Come...
