Salvation Army Family Service Center — Local services in Mesquite

The Salvation Army in Mesquite Nevada is hidden from view behind a big glass building with the name Colonial Management and Fidelity. The Salvation Army is in place for those who may need a little help or need food. This organization sponsors the Toys for Tots for children and the Christmas Kettles for donations every year during the holidays. The monies they collect are 100% for the Community in need and the monies collected for their city STAYS in the city for that community. I just learned this because my husband now works for this organization. They collect food all year for those in need and give it all away to the needy. Not one cent do they charge people. I mean like every day of the week, Monday through Friday they help people and give them needed items like hygiene and personal care items and foods. It is manned mostly by volunteers who do food pickups from local stores that contribute to this organization and give their time weekly to help citizens in their community. I can speak only for myself, although I do contribute and put money into the Kettles yearly I start to avoid them after awhile.. bad on me. .but this organization is run completely on our contributions..Solely on contributions. I realize now my own greediness, we shouldn't forget the community in need, everyday the ones we see and don't see.They exist under the bridges and parks. Those affected by the loss of jobs during this Covid19 and other situations. Let's be more generous in giving to the Salvation Army organization because they are for the common good of us all.
