Pick a number, ok only a few ahead of me. 2 dmv employees, thinking its looking Good! Just as the dmv worker gets done with her last customer, and would be pushing that button to call my number, she does a walkabout, asking a gentleman who came in after me what he was here for. She listens, makes a comment or two then as new customers arrive she asks them what they are here for. What do you know? They’re here for the same thing as I. So as she starts going through the list of things necessary making comment it’s to save them time I decide I will inform her that I have everything on the list to get an ID and she says in a condescending voice good girl. I finally get called up to the window by the gentleman that’s working there to be informed that even though the website doesn’t define this exclusion I cannot get an ID because I have a drivers license. Wow I thought to myself how wonderful that would’ve been had that woman asked me first to save me time especially since I had been there 20 minutes and they just walked in. I suppose when it’s all said and done I was better off for the bump, at least I got the pleasant looking dmv employee.
Side note: the DMV employee who had bumped me, had to interrupt the gentleman helping me to ask how to do her job… I guess she was determined to make...
Read moreThe DMV promotes “Walk-In Wednesdays”, but doesn’t inform you that you have to show up and scan a QR code, AND that the walk-ins allowed is limited. The DMV opened at 8:00AM. I showed up at 8:45AM, after driving an hour, just to be told they weren’t taking anymore walk-ins. Even though there is a huge sign outside that says “Scan QR code for walk-in queue” ?
On top of everything, the security guard was rude and condescending. The DMV is a stressful time for everyone, especially with the Real ID deadline. When I’m being polite, just trying to ask questions to help me understand walk-in appointments (since there is a sign outside promoting walk-in appointments), and the security guard is rolling his eyes at me?
He told myself and another gentleman to “step outside now to discuss things”. We went outside and he made a big scene about how people showed up at 7:00AM to scan the QR code and how we should have managed our time better to be here earlier. Which is extremely out of line for him to say and talk to us like that.
Getting a DMV appointment in time for what you need is already a headache and stressful. The employees need to be more understanding and to not immediately be rude when people who show up just hoping to get a walk-in...
Read moregot there 10 min before they opened dozen people in front of me. security guy had a paper with a code on it you can scan with your cell phone I did not have a cell phone so I got on a list. waited 2 hours with people just walking in the door and going right up to the counter was told they had scanned the code at home. no place on the internet about a code you can scan at home. guy that came in after me had scanned the code from the security guy got in line before me. not sure where they placed me in line from the the list with the people with the code probably last I guess. come the day before and get the code and then the next day you can scan the code fifteen min before they open and then they tell you on your phone when to come in. I've got the code for when I have to come back and license my truck because on the first trip I could only get my drivers license they would not let me license the truck without Nevada insurance and I needed the license to get the insurance. mesquite dmv is a nightmare and I hope after I get the truck license I won't ever have to go there again. really poor system and a lot...
