Spanish Lagos Apartment — Local services in Mesquite

This place is awful. I wish i could break my lease but i dont have the money to pay the ridiculous fees. They nickel and dime you for absolutely everything but have some of the worst staff ive literally ever encountered. Not to mention ever changing. Youre lucky if you see the same face 2 months in a row. The onsite laundromat hasnt been functional in a month or more. Drugs are passed around like candy especially with the teenagers. I cant tell you how many times ive seen them openly carrying drug paraphernalia to their friends place. God forbid you need any kind of leniency with your rent because evictions are passed out like candy as well despite not following the agreements in the lease. Mold and insects everywhere especially during summer. You can always smell some neighbor somewheres pot smoke after the offices close. Tons of illegal activity or sketchy tenants. All appliances, lighting fixtures, sinks, tubs, etc.. Havent been updated since at least the 80's. Black bull towing literally waits around corners waiting for a visitor without a visitor pass at any given moment. Ac and hot water never work. Ever. Staff is extremely unfriendly and often times unprofessional. Dont worry though most english speakers wont have a problem seeing as almost no one is fluent in any language but spanish. Racism and prejudice is very real in their selection with other tenants. And rather than taking criticism or trying to be helpful i and many others while i watched have been pushed out of the door or threatened with wrongful termination of their lease. Of course half of the current tenants not being fluent english speakers believe that crap and dont unserstand that they have no power to enforce anything not agreed upon in your lease. Despite every staff member apparently being a legal major ( sarcasm)who cant even conprehend the terms of the lease that they hand out. There are no acceptions or changes that can rightfully be made with out a signature unless they really arent just afraid of a legal battle. And all for the wopping final price of 715 for the smallest 1 bedroom available. Or more if you feel like having twice the roaches and headaches in their disgusting 2 bedroom options. Your money is spent much better elsewhere. I myself wouldnt even be here if it werent an emergency decision i made...

Oh where do I start? Maintenance or residents or both work with the towtruck companies. I rented a car to out of town and within 45 minutes I had to run outside to jump in it so they didn't take it.that's at least $300 to get it out. My roommate had a resident pass and they still tried to tow his work truck. Roommates work truck was broken into and all his equipment was stolen. People break into the mailboxes. I have not been able to check the mail for a week and a half because they dented our mailbox and now it won't open....main maintenance was supposed to fix it last week... Still waiting. Lots of plumbing issues, maintenance is always in and out of your apartment, we have a hole drilled in our bathroom, living room and kitchen. No one told us why... Been two months and they still haven't filled them in or anything. We haven't had to big of an issue with roaches, but the ants are everywhere! I'm having to go fill in holes all over the place to keep them from getting in. If the laundry card machine is broken your just out of luck because they don't even care. Pool is never clean. Had sewer water leaking in our bathroom for a week before they fixed it. Our whole apartment smelled like a portapotty. Showers get icy cold and then boiling hot. AC was leaking from the kitchen ceiling..... Took a week to get them out here. We have not had an issue with the AC otherwise, it keeps cool for sure. Patio sizes are good. Not too many loud neighbors, but beer cans and bottles everywhere. There is a park within walking distance, that's a positive. I do not suggest these apartments...

When we viewed this apartment it looked nice. Just recently moved in about 2-3 weeks ago. Already having problems with this apartment since we moved in: nothing works and they keep making excuses as to why they can't fix things, short staffed or "maintenance doesn't know how to fix the AC." IF THEY DON'T KNOW THEN WHY ARE THEY MAINTENANCE? our fridge wasn't working they fixed it the 2nd-3rd day. Roaches EVERYWHERE. the sink knobs in the bathroom are switched so hot is cold & cold is hot THEY NEVER FIXED. The biggest thing i have a problem with is NO AC which hasn't been working since we moved in. I've been complaining ever since i moved in with my husband. They lied to me so many times and say maintenance will check it out but they never show up for the past 2-3 weeks!!! By now the new AC should have been ordered and installed with the many MANY times I've complained since we moved in! But meanwhile they installed a small window unit that doesn't give off enough cold air. We need actual AC in this hot weather. When its hot outside its hot inside EVERYWHERE. If this problem persists i will gladly call apartments association of greater dallas to report this. Don't rent here. Made a terrible mistake. Can't break the 12...
