If I could give this restaurant a zero, I would! I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction regarding my recent experience at your Mesquite, Texas location on August 3, 2025, at approximately 2:05 PM. My friend, and I visited this restaurant after church, where we spent a total of $50.83. Unfortunately, this visit was marked by the worst dining experience I have ever encountered.
Upon entering the establishment, I noticed that the food on the buffet was dried out and inedible. I could only consume a salad and some catfish during my first round. My friend, who is pregnant and classified as high-risk, attempted to find something suitable to eat but faced numerous issues. She selected meatloaf, catfish, and Brussels sprouts, all of which were improperly prepared and unappetizing.
We requested to speak with the manager, who struggled to communicate in English, necessitating a translator. Despite explaining our concerns about the quality of the food, the manager attempted to convince us that it was fresh. I insisted that she inspect the food herself, but when I requested fried chicken, it was poorly cooked and also unappetizing.
My friend was still hungry, tried again to find something edible and chose barbecue chicken, which she discovered was raw and bleeding. This prompted us to leave the table and decide to contact the health department. The state of the food served at your restaurant poses a serious health risk to your customers, and it is crucial that management is capable of effectively communicating in English to address such concerns.
As a very unhappy customer, I regret to inform you that I will not be returning to this location. I urge you to take immediate action to address these issues, as the current state of your restaurant could potentially lead to serious health problems for...
Read moreI have been to this particular establishment before but on this occasion I must say I felt like I wasn’t wanted here. My family and I feel we were discriminated on based on our skin color. I never thought I would be writing this or become the guy using the race card; but I was in line at the the grill section and the young man whom was serving meat ignored me and when he did acknowledge me he was rude and dismissive, he gave the people in front of me a whole steak but when it came to me he cut off a small triangle and proceeded to place it on my plate, when I say a small piece I mean it was small and insulting. I did not take it. Not only did it happen to me but it happened to my mother, aunt and friend all on separate occasions, we only knew when we began to converse at the table and realized we all experienced the same scenario. People before them in line received whole steaks but when it came to them they were given a small portion as well. I didn’t want to believe it but on my 2nd time to get more food I just waited and watched as another African American family also received small cuts of meat while others were given a whole steak or nice size portion of meat. This is when I came to the conclusion we might be being discriminated on based on who we are. Not only was it the young man but the older gentleman that worked with him did the same. It is so disheartening that we still have things like this occurring still but the sad reality is that it happens, but it didn’t sit right with my family and I when we left. I want to let our experience be known because it wasn’t a good feeling. We all are one race; the human race and things like this should be addressed so it doesn’t happen to anyone else. I hope in the future if we decide to come here again, we won’t have to...
Read moreMe and husband once enjoyed all the options of different foods here, would bring my family and friends here for years. We always enjoyed the once great service. Today we received the worse we can honestly say from any restaurant. A cashier by the name of Mya that was working the register went over what we can or can't due to service ourselves for food. We completely understood so we paid - went on. Once we started walking around looking at our options as for foods she walked over speaking Spanish , I looked over to her and said I'm sorry are you speaking to us. Because a few minutes ago she spoke to us in English. She started yelling at us in Spanish and English my husband couldn't help but ask what was the problem. She was saying that the gloves needed to be put on before serving ourselves my husband says yes we understood we are just looking around to see what we want to eat. Mya continues to yell saying awful things to us in front of other customers and staffing and the kitchen manager that didn't understand what she was actually saying to us. We asked to speak to someone to complain about our experience and kitchen management kept saying she had no information that she could give us to complain about Mya. Today we didn't feel valued as a paying customer and treated as if we wasn't welcome. This experience was a awful considering we paid for our food like everyone else. I wouldn't recommend coming here, apparently customer service isn't available here any more. Not even with a basic cashier that was telling my husband do you have common sense. Mya continued with her verbal aggressiveness toward us, We will not be returning and will be informing are family & friends coworkers and their families- friends about...
