Dop Antiques — Local services in Metairie

After finding out about Dop Antiques through a local interior designer and following them on Instagram a gothic style cabinet popped up ina post and I had to have it. Upon arriving to the store the staff was above and beyond helpful when it came to searching for a makers mark including removing the pegged pieces and providing additional lighting and educating us on what they knew about the piece. After purchasing that piece we roamed the store and were shown another new piece that had come in, a chest that held wine bottles. We held back then but when their Memorial Day sale came around we found ourselves back in the store hoping the chest was still there. Luckily for us it was!! Staff was once again super friendly and helped us load it into our vehicle after purchasing it. They do have a local contact who delivers if needed, which we are doing for the first piece at a very reasonable price. Incredible selection! Dop's has new ownership, and you can tell immediately. The improvements on the operation are immense, the showroom is now an actual "show" room, and they've increased the inventory. They even have their own woodworkers who can do some custom work, repair, etc. Dop's Antiques not only has an incredible selection, but their prices are really good. From what I hear, other places buy from Dop's and then sell the items closer to the city center for a big markup, so this spot is worth the drive!!! We bought our wall decor and people are constantly asking us where we got it from. Don't miss out on this spot! Dop's is my go-to place to purchase...

The prices here are insane... And not in a good way... I picked up a tiny little metal stool that was covered in rust and it needed to be completely restored and they wanted $300 for it... It wasn't even an antique... They have alot of beautiful stuff but the prices aren't worth it.. however, if you don't care about prices then this place is awesome.. tons of stuff to look at and tons of unique pieces... Maybe one day when I'm rich...
