Chinese & American Restaurant — Restaurant in Metairie

While there are many great things here in New Orleans, Chinese food is not one of them. I've eaten Chinese food from every mentionable city in the USA - NOLA just doesn't have it. I currently live Uptown and every place I've ordered from has been subpar to say the least until I came here.

One rainy Saturday night, while visiting a family member hospitalized at Oschner and too exhausted (lazy) to go out, I decided to order delivery from this place. Within 30 minutes from the time I placed the call, I had two steaming hot takeout containers filled with shrimp and broccoli, chicken lo mein, and shrimp fried rice, along with a cup of hot and sour soup, delivered to my room (they brought it straight to my ROOM, ya'll) at the Brent House Hotel.

First off, don't listen to these other reviewers. I've noticed that some reviewers love mentioning details that are completely irrelevant and don't pertain to the quality and taste of the food, when I'm pretty sure that's the most important part of a review (e.g; someone being solicited by a bum and somehow that's the restaurant/employee's fault? Seriously??)

Anyway, back to quality and taste - the food was great!! The shrimp were HUGE and fresh! My veggies were super crunchy, Lo mein noodles were delicious, and the fried rice had the perfect ratio of sauce/veggies to rice - not salty at all. Now if this place could deliver all the way to Uptown, it would be a dream come true!! 10/10 would recommend - I'll be driving across town next time I'm in the mood for some...

They are my favorite local chinese restaurant. Though there are times that the food is somewhat inconsistent I am more than happy to do business with them. The lady that runs the register is a ROCK STAR!!! SHE IS AMAZING. I LOVE HER! The food is always at least adequate on their worst days but I cant stress enough how many times THE FOOD IS AMAZING (more often than not as I get really upset about bad food). They always get my order correct. In the last 6 years I have done business with them there was only once that there was a mistake and I didn't receive something. The nice rock star lady CALLED ME to TELL ME that she forgot something. I live close by so I returned. She was super apologetic. Hey we are all human. She was extra sweet and super kindly offered me a couple drinks since I had to return. I will always give them my business if I want chinese food. Keep up the awesome work rock star lady (I wish I could remember her name; I am terrible with names) I hope this helps...

My wife my daughter and I went one night, we live right around the corner. We were the only people in there, that should have been a clue! We ordered and paid, second clue!! ( really, how many times do you pay for your meal in a restaurant before you sit down! ). The place felt dirty, and they had a pile of dirty dishes stacked in and over the top of a black dish bucket, with flies! No one ever came out to check on us. And they call for you when the meal is ready. We got our food, I got a chicken wing dinner. It came out yellow in color and hard! Not tender lick a piece if chicken, HARD! It was all nasty!
