Here is my honest review of the Mexico theater. The facility itself is very good since the remodel. I have had very good luck with the younger staff and the new seats are the best around, even better than Columbia Theaters. The biggest problem I have found is older couple that I assume are the owners. They actually don’t care about the movie goers experience.
Here are a couple of examples. My family went to see Rampage there a few weeks ago and as the movie starts we see the movie is not fit to the screen. It is literally 2 feet off to the right and about 3 feet off the bottom and obviously not the correct aspect for the screen. As the movie begins I went out to the lobby to let them know. The young girls running the cash register very nicely said that they had contacted the manufacturer and they had not yet found a solution. I then asked why they were still operating that particular screen and not telling people before they bought a ticket. The older lady running the place then raises her voice and rudely states that “the movie is fine sir, there is nothing we can do about it”. I replied that you could tell people or maybe offer a discount, then I walked back into the theater. They continued to sell full price tickets to unsespecting customers.
Fast forward to today, when we went to see Infinity War. No issues with the screen this time however during the movies they refused to close the doors that lead to the doors at each theater, allowing a large group of people that were waiting for the next movie time (loudly) to disrupt the move many times. I did not do the complaining this time, however several people from the movies did. Then immediately as the end credit start to roll, they turned on the lights and started letting people in for the next showtime. Since most of the people were staying for the post credits scene this was rediculous. As I exited the older lady (again I’m assuming the owner or manager) was asked why they allowed all that to happen, and she rudely replied there was nothing they could do. Now I’m not sure if they just don’t care or if they honestly don’t understand how to run a theater. A quick trip to Columbia theaters will show them how to fix these issues. I’ll help here a little in case they actually read this, close the lobby doors and have a staff person at the door to manage the crowd for the next show until it’s time to seat. I’ll be going to Columbia or Fulton from now on. I encourage everyone to do the same.
The poor management of this venue is sad because the facility is decent for this size town, and the prices...
Read moreThis theatre is one of the best theatres to go to in all of Missouri. I ordered 4 tickets to Godzilla: King of the Monsters and the tickets here are surprisingly inexpensive compared to theatres like the Hollywood theatre in Columbia. This theatre might be small with only three movies at a time, but they make up for it with amazing customer service, the atmosphere is perfect, and the seats are way more comfortable than the seats at Hollywood and I say that even though I sat in the least comfortable seats in that theatre. The only weakness I can give to this theatre was that the sound quality of the movie is slightly worse than the Hollywood theatre, but that comparison is not very noticeable and the sound quality is still very good. Overall this is one of the best theatres I have ever been to and it is so good that I might move from being a Hollywood theatre goer to a Mexico theatre goer and I would recommend this to anyone who wants to see a movie...
Read moreEver since the remodel, there have been very big improvements on attitudes towards customers. However, I went to see The Lion King and I purchased my tickets. There was an older gentleman (assuming the owner) on the other end of the register. He lied on how I got charged with an adult ticket and paid extra. He argued with me on how I got here and over 18. Yes I got there on my own. So i gave him my license to prove to him on how old I was. Another time was when I saw Endgame and the Air Conditioning went out. It got hot quickly and I went to let the front know and told me they will take care of it. They did thank goodness. I think someone came in and had a big talk with them. Its okay overall only if you REALLY want to...
