I wanted to share the most amazing experience I have ever had at a retail store. I was frantic to find a pair of black pants for a dinner engagement. I had recently gained a considerable amount of weight and I was visiting and only had jeans. I went to the Middletown Marshalls and was not hopeful to find what I needed but thought I would try. Well I found the perfect pair of pants in my size. The only pair in my size but the issue was that someone had ripped the tag off. I went to the changing room and asked if the front desk could look up the item and give me a tag. This lovely young lady named Danielle said she was in working in that department and there was no way to look it up. I asked if I should go to the front desk and she said yes but they would just call her and there was nothing she could do. I thanked her and explained my situation and she suggested looking through the rack for a similar pair of pants by that maker, which I did. Well, while I was looking through the rack Danielle came over to me and asked to see the pants. I explained there were no pants in any size on the rack.These pants were on the clearance rack. She assessed the pants and said they were pull on, found another designer pant that was similar and just told me she was going to bring them up front and have a tag put on them. I was in shock at her exceptional customer service and I was in tears. This young lady just saved me, literally! I tried to find the manager to explain how wonderful an employee she is but couldn't find them. The least I can do is to write this review. In today's world of poor customer service and people being fed up and complaining, I was fortunate enough to find a real angel at Christmas time. I usually love Marshalls, but I had a very unpleasant experience with a staff member this afternoon. I went to the fitting room, and a short older woman was at the desk there. She saw me and said "One item? Ok, fine" and then turned away from me to talk to someone else. I tried on the shirt and came back out, and she came towards me and starting speaking in an aggressive, rude way. "Did you just go back there with an item? You didn't have a card! You have to have a card!" She wasn't quite yelling, but almost. She was saying other things as well, but I just said fine and walked away. Her tone and attitude left me feeling very uncomfortable, and there were some other customers standing there too, so it was kind of embarassing. Although I planned to look at more clothes, I just left the store without buying anything. Her ugly tone of voice, and the way she looked me up and down as if checking to see if I was stealing anything, was deeply unprofessional.
