Our family recently revisited the La z boy location in Midlothian, Virginia to make a final determination on which model recliners and sofa we wanted. My wife and I had previously made a couple of trips there and to the location in Henrico back in the Winter. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the Midlothian location and I believe the store to be a bit larger as well. We went to the Henrico store since they said they had the particular model setup the way we wanted yet upon arrival we quickly found out they did not. However, we stayed and looked at other models we did not see in the Midlothian store so altogether not a wasted trip. During our visits we met Kyndra and later Patti, both of whom were super nice and not pushy. They wanted us to find the most comfortable piece based on our own body type. For the last two trips we spent about three hours with Patti and the folks there could not have been more accommodating. We have three young children and our middle is very restless and high energy. The staff gave them paper and coloring markers to keep them content while Mommy and I made our final selections. We made a last visit to confirm our selections and sign the paperwork. Most if not all three pieces were on an extended order time since we chose different fabric and Tempur cushion on one recliner. Overall a great experience and we are pleased about our selections. One thing to note for prospective buyers, La z boy requires a minimum 30% downpayment with financing available for the remainder. Something to keep in mind if you are planning on furnishing a new home or a large room as we did (two recliners and a sofa). If I had one critique for La z boy it would be to change that policy to make purchasing more affordable given the financial strains of late and for those on fixed income budgets. Again a big THANK YOU to Kyndra and Patti!! And thank you to the rest of the staff for being so...
Read moreI came here a month ago and we were ready to buy a power sofa headrest recliner. They said they have price matching guarantee. I found the exact sofa and color for about 1200 dollars less. I asked about the price match and they said they could not match because it was too low of a price and that corporate would raise a flag. They also said there was a difference when it came to warranty. The problem with that statement from them is that the other furniture company is an authorized Lazboy dealer that has the exact same warranty that comes from Lazboy. I would understand if they were not authorized, but not in this case. They were nice though, but when it comes to price matching...buyer beware at this store. I actually saved 1200 dollars on the price, I saved on shipping and delivery (free at the store I bought it from), and I saved on the 5 year warranty as well. The local store was going ro charge me for shipping/delivery. The company I bought it from is Homemakers Furniture at homemakers.com a Lazboy authorized dealer. Not only that, but I received my sofa already, whereas this store promised it for March. Not sure what gives with the local store versus a store that is out of state, but I am very happy I bought it. The only thing different is if you want a different fabric or color or anything custom and you can't find it at Homemakers than pretty much you are at the mercy of the local store and their price. Just do your homework if you want to save a good chunk of change. Luckily, I found the exact match and they had different colors as well which the local store did not have...but I am sure the local store would get it for you especially if they have it at the warehouse but expect it within 2 or 3 months. If they do not have it, then they told us it could be...
Read moreThe first time we went in we told the sales lady what we were looking for and she showed us everything that SHE liked and nothing that we were interested in. We started to just look on our own and every time we would sit in something we liked she would tell us that's not what we needed and tell us to "come check this out." We started to ignore her and she wouldn't let us just shop by ourselves and would continuously bother us trying to show us stuff we weren't interested in. We ended up finding what we wanted and tried to buy it and she seemed clueless as to how to make the sale. We ended up leaving and went back another day and bought it with another sales lady. So now the sale is done and we're waiting for it to come in. They call on a Tuesday and tell us it is in the store and to pick it up on Thursday. We tell them we are unable to pick it up Thursday and ask if Friday is ok since I'm off work every friday. They tell us that is fine. So here it is friday, we start heading in to pick it up and called to let the know we are on the way and they tell us it's not in the store anymore and that we can pick it up next Tuesday. We tell them Tuesday won't work that it needs to be a Friday, she says "well what about Thursday?" No, it needs to be Friday. So she schedules pick up for Friday. Let's see if they can get it straight this time. Very disappointed that such a name brand store has poor sales people and poor...
