Love their little restaurant inside the store. They always have great meals prepped quickly.

The rest of the store is fine, although some items are way overpriced (some almost 100% compared to big name stores) usually their meats and some produce are pretty inexpensive.

The pre-cooked food they offer is also pretty good I'd just be weary of the tamales. I bought an overpriced batch that unfortunately was undercooked and inedible. Sucks because I was craving tamales and it just kind of put a damper on it.

Great store for authentic Mexican items especially at the little in store restaurants, I can only speak for the tacos as it's the only thing I usually get if I stop at the diner, but they're great so I imagine the rest would be as well. As for the groceries, You have to know what you're shopping for as -some- things are VERY overpriced. Often have very good prices on meats and produce but things like milk/cheese/eggs tend to be very expensive. They have fliers that show their sales that are the same for all El Rey locations (you can grab one right when you walk in every location I've seen). El Rey is a very good grocery store. They always have what we need, especially when it comes to Spanish food. They have really fresh meat at a great price. Their produce is also always fresh. They will take special orders on a variety of different things. We are making a traditional Puerto Rican dish this Sunday. They took our produce order and are going to have it ready for pick up on Sunday morning. Their employees are very friendly and helpful.
