If Mad Max had needed office supplies during his post-apocalyptic dystopian ordeals, this is what the store he visited would have looked like with its poor inventory spread around to fill empty space, dim lights, dirty walls and floor, and dispirited staff.
I had stopped in the drop off a FedEx package for shipping, and to check the place out since we recently moved to a nearby area. But I ended up not leaving the FedEx package because they had no way to print out a receipt for this $1,000+ item.
Actually, none of this is a laughing matter. Like the Walmart, Home Depot, and other chain stores nearby, the attitude here seems to be that the residents of this majority-Black neighborhood don't deserve any better. I mean, they'll pay full price even if the goods and services offered are sub-par, right? Right?
The saddest part is that the staffers of these stores tend to be the more friendly and helpful folks we've run into. They just haven't been given any resources to work with.
UPDATE: When did it become PR standard procedure to ask reviewers to send the offending company one's phone number, etc., when I've already gone to the great trouble of writing a detailed review that includes all the relevant facts? To me, it smacks of...
Read moreLeft a 1 star because I couldn’t leave a lower rating. I went in this morning to buy cd/dvd sleeves for my software discs. They were listed as 4.79 where 3-4 packets of Maxell 50s were.
The associate rang them up as 5.79 and wanted to argue with me about the price. I took a photo of the display with the other sleeves and showed them to her.
She notified a “manager” who approved the override so that oi could receive the physically listed price. The manager then asked me where I intended to buy more sleeves once these were used. I mentioned an online outlet but wasn’t sure why that question had anything to do with my purchase.
A little too much. I don’t think I’ll be returning to invest at that...
Read moreWent into the store to purchase ink, asked one of the employees for help finding the right ink. Gave him the printer information and he grabbed the ink he said I needed. Went home and tried it but it didn't work and I brought it back the next day. Only to be told that I couldn't return it or trade it for the correct one since I opened it to try it. It didn't matter to them that one of their employees was the one to sell me the wrong item, then tells me to recycle them as if that helps me get back the $30 I spent just the day before. It was very frustrating and I went to Walmart(like I should have in the 1st place) to get the...
