I just attended a baby shower for my niece at this event space. I wish I could say that I had a great time especially since I flew in for the event. However a man by the name of Juan Cordabar ruined the event. The moment we pulled up to the location, Juan approached the vehicle and told us we need to move. I explained that we had a heavy arm chair to unload and we would move it in a few mins. A few mins later, a police cruiser appeared and told us they were called because we were trespassing. We explained that we were the people renting the space. While setting up, Juan saw us bring in bottles of wine and told us there was no alcohol permitted inside the establishment. We put the bottles of wine back in the car and continued to set up. As guest started to arrive, Juan stood standing in the space by the doors as if he was a security guard standing with arms folded watching everyone making them feel uncomfortable. There was a moment when Juan walked in calling out to me in from of everyone and said that the party needed to be over. We were about an hour into the party when one of our guests said the police were outside and a bunch of our guests were lined up along the front of the building. Once outside Juan said that the guests who hadn’t even stepped foot into the venue were not allowed in. He told the police that the guests were outside drinking and that was against policy. I understood what he was saying and explained that these guests didn’t know there was a no alcohol policy. Juan continued to yell in my face and said the party was over. I kindly asked him if I could speak to his supervisor. The gentleman I spoke to on the phone (Jimmy) fully understood that the guests had just arrived to the venue and had no idea about the alcohol policy. He also understood that most of them had flown in from all over the country to this event. Jimmy instructed Juan to allow our guests to enter the venue. From there everything went downhill. Juan made us begin wrapping up the party early. He instructed us to thoroughly mop the venue and asked a guest scrub the toilets or we wouldn’t get our deposit back. After doing so, he threw us out- before our time was up. We have a ton of family events coming up but will never use this place again. I’d like to give a special honorary mention to Kaloni who showed up after Juan requested “back up”. He was extremely friendly and...
Read moreHelen Pender is the rudest person I've talked to at a building department. I called to get the number for an inspector. I was polite and had all the information needed. She proceeded to ask if I was the contractor, which I replied yes. She proceeded to berate me and tell me I call up there all the time, which I don't, and that I could put a time frame in the inspection notes. There's zero notes about this online or in the portal. After she continues I ask again if I could just have the number. She finally gives it to me. What should have been a 30 second phone call turned into 3mins of...
Read moreMost of your city workers are kind, however the contractors you hire to cut grass at these parks are absolutely horrible and disrespectful. Even if they are enforcing rules they have no tact on how to speak to people. I wasn’t aware I could have my dog in a certain area, and the contractor was throwing his hands in the air and really looked like he was throwing a tantrum over my dog. If a dog is going to make a contractor lose all basic human respect then please, fire them. Please comment if you have any questions. I’m more than happy to explain the...
