The store is pretty neat; the staff is nice and informative; pricing on games and accessories seems fair(they're negotiable); and the variety of games to choose from is vast. I was able to grab some Guitar Hero controllers that work without a problem; I snagged a couple of PS2 titles; and I'm currently building a DS game collection for when I move to college - they got some really good titles: Pokemon, Mario games, etc. They have some pretty rare titles like Resident Evil 2 and Metal Gear Solid - a sealed version I believe - I'm not huge on collecting rare games, but if you are, this place is worth checking out to see what appears on the shelf - as well as what's behind the glass cases.
What's even better is that they offer repairs on your video game systems - depending on the damage of course. Have nothing to fix but items to sell? They accept your old game collections for cash or store credit; I traded in some stuff and used my store credit to buy some magazines (Nintendo Power, PS2, guides, etc.), what's interesting is some of them still have posters in them - they look great on my wall. The store also has game systems that you can play on; I played Turok on their n64 for a fair bit - I stopped since it was getting late, but also since this version on the n64 has tons of flashing screens (epileptic levels of flashing). Besides the digression, it's pretty nice to test out a game on their system before buying it - or just playing it because why not?
I always make an effort to visit this place after spending a couple of hours reading my books and taking my walks. It's remarkable they chose to open up in Mocksville - we barely get anything exciting - but I'm glad they did since it made me revisit games and systems that I neglected in the past - and also for an excuse to come downtown more often.
In conclusion, the store is nice - could use some more decorations and ambient lighting, but that's just me - the owner (Jeremy) is nice, and the atmosphere is inviting for introverts and extroverts. I'll keep visiting with friends and family till I leave for college.

My experience at Love For Retro was, in every respect, outstanding. In an era where specialized retail can be impersonal, this store stands as a remarkable testament to the value of passion, expertise, and genuine customer care. The store itself is a wonderfully curated space for any video game enthusiast. However, what truly elevates Love For Retro is its business philosophy. In a market that can often be volatile and inflated, their pricing is refreshingly fair and realistic. It is immediately apparent that they value building long-term, trusting relationships with their clientele over making a quick, high-margin sale. This is the hallmark of a good, sustainable business. A significant reason for this wonderful atmosphere is the owner, Jeremy. He is the epitome of an awesome and accommodating proprietor. Jeremy is not only deeply knowledgeable but also incredibly approachable and genuinely invested in helping his customers. He was exceptionally accommodating, taking the time to understand what I was looking for and ensuring I had a positive experience. It is rare to find a store that combines an excellent selection, fair pricing, and such a high caliber of personal service. Love For Retro has earned my highest recommendation and my...
Read moreI don't think there are enough adjectives to describe how much I really love this store. I am new to Mocksville, and needed a new (used) PS4, and I decided to come here based on a friends recommendation. They hooked me up with a 500GB PS4. When I got home, the system wasn't acting right, so I contacted the store and they told me to bring it back and they would upgrade me to a 1TB slim model...Amazing! These guys are the real deal. Not only are they super friendly, they really do seem to care about their customers and their gaming needs and really invest in making the relationship between consumer and seller an amazing one. Jeremy and his associates are absolutely friendly, easy to work with, and make the entire in-store experience an amazing one. I will never shop at GameStop again! If something doesn't work quite right, they immediately try to remedy it for you. It's absolutely great! I def cannot wait to come by and...
