Firehouse CrossFit essentially saved my life. I was in very poor health, both physically and mentally and an ad popped up asking me if I wanted to change my life through this gym. I was so nervous, but decided to make a meeting with one of the owners and I knew straight away that I needed to be here. I can't quite explain what it is about this place, but it is a huge part of my life now. I look forward to working out every day and being a part of this family. Others have said this, and I must say it as well, this is more than just a gym. This is a lifestyle and a loving and caring community, a fit family. Everyone here cheers you on to succeed, people who truly care about you and love watching you grow.
As for getting in better shape physically, I have lost 40 pounds and 7.5 inches in my hips alone, all in 6 months. The emotional/mental support is way better than going to therapy! There are so many scaling options which make the workouts comfortable for me as I grow in strength and agility.
I urge you to try Firehouse CrossFit! It is nothing like you see on the television and it will change your life...
Read moreHave you ever seen The Breakfast Club? It’s about five high school students who meet in Saturday detention and discover how they have a great deal more in common than they thought. That feels really similar to my experience at Firehouse over the last 2 years. I was forced into this experience by friends, but I stayed because of what I discovered. This gym of misfits will grip your heart and even on the really hard days you’ll find reasons to come back.
The environment couldn’t be more welcoming, the people couldn’t be more supportive, and it really doesn’t matter who you are/what your physical journey has looked like up to this point - they make room for you. I’m 33 weeks pregnant and having to modify all of my movements but this has become therapy for me so I have no intentions of quitting now. I always avoided CrossFit gyms because it looked like such a competitive environment….YUCK LOL. Undoubtedly, you’ll be challenged accordingly if your heart is to compete but if you would rather mainline drano than enter a competition….welcome home.
Bet on yourself and try this place out. You...

I had never lifted weights or joined a gym before, so I was completely new to all this. I've been coming to the evening classes, which are a little smaller, and they give great instructions on proper form and safety. I've been going for just over 3 months and I'm continuously seeing progress. For example, my one rep max for deadlifts increased from 165# in January to 210# in April.
I moved to Monmouth after a divorce - combine that with being new to the area and working remotely, I was feeling pretty isolated. This is such a great, welcoming group of people! I went to a Sip & Paint event for the gals in March, went to cheer on folks at the Family Fit Games in Salem last weekend, and grabbed food and drinks afterwards. I'm super disappointed I'm headed out of town on the day of the annual barbeque this summer!
I'm so happy I took that step to join! This is such a fantastic community and a...
