My wife and I are really happy that Habebah is now open. Even better is that it is the same owners that owned the food cart at the same location a few years ago.
We arrived and were second in line. We ordered and found a table. My wife and I both ordered entrees. Entrees are served with seasoned Basmati Rice and a choice of two sides. She ordered the #5 Chicken plate with Baba Ganoush and Pita Bread. I ordered the #6 Gyro Plate (beef and lamb). I chose fries and pita bread as my sides.
Imelda brought our waters and silverware. We asked and she confirmed that it is the same owners as the food cart. She was very friendly and we chatted a bit. Soon after she brought our food. The aroma alone tantalized our taste buds and both of us could not wait to dig in. Each of our first bites reminded us of sitting under the tent and eating in the cold rainy Oregon weather years ago. It is even nicer now that they are brick and mortar.
The taste was even better than we remembered. All the meats were well seasoned and delicious. The rice was far from bland and perfectly seasoned as well. My fries were fresh and hot with a sprinkling of Mediterranean spice. The portions were well in line with the price paid.
After dinner we were able to meet one of the owners, Majeed. It was nice to meet him and it was clear that he takes pride in the food he serves.
Pay Habebah a visit, you won't be disappointed.
I admit that I "forgot" to get a picture and before I knew it my plate was clean. Guess we'll just have to go back. For now here is a picture of my emply plate.
*Update
Went back again just a few days later because, it is that good (and to get a proper photo). I had the same, my wife had the Chicken Wrap, which she said was delicious. My Gyro Plate was just as good as the first time. Imelda once again provided impeccable service.
We finished off with a piece of Baklava which was simply amazing. Light flakey phyllo pastry with pistachio filling and drizzled with honey. It was a perfect end to a...
Read moreMy family and I went in yesterday for lunch time, it was great! It was our first time dining there and we didn’t know what to get. We called the server over, she was nice, polite, had a wonderful positive attitude. The whole time she was patient and respectful with all of us. Her name was Imelda, we asked what she would recommend us trying, she said the chicken plate, and gyro plate was her favorite. She also recommended us trying the Vimto beverage which was her favorite drink. We asked about dessert, and what she liked, she recommended us Baklava her favorite dessert. We had to try it all and I have to say it was all delicious!!! The chicken plate was amazing! And was my favorite! The chicken was so juicy, tender and had a miraculous taste. All the food was delightful and service was wonderful. Thank you Imelda for helping us pick out our food, and for being so patient with my family! No other food service has treated us this way. We will be coming back to Habebah again for sure! Hope to see you there...
Read moreThe employee working the cash register is so nice and sweet and helpful and accommodating. Super good worker. The vibe inside it super chill. Fun music and the aesthetic is nice. Floors are clean. Big drink selection. Simple menu. Lots of places to sit. No wait.
Very very small portion.
Gyro was oddly tasteless so was the meat. The meat didn’t have any flavor, it was like biting into a mushy nothing. The sauce in the gyro had no flavor.
It was very underwhelming. It was the least tasty gyro I have ever had. The hummus was not good either. It just did not hit. It was again very underwhelming. If you like gyros and genuinely know what they taste like you won’t like this or the meat etc
The baklava was VERY TASTY.
The service and baklava and atmosphere is...
