I started my Syndicate journey a little less than a year ago and this is what I have to say:

So unlike traditional film school or school in general with pointless homework assignments, a predetermined schedule, and a repetitive curriculum that doesn’t teach you much. Instead you get hands-on experience with industry standard softwares and equipment, complete control of your schedule, and courses chosen by the students. Courses vary from screenwriting, casting, editing, lighting, cameras, and much more. Not to mention the one aspect of film that nobody talks about— The business and marketing aspect.

Syndicate also allows you to borrow their equipment and use their studio for any film projects you may have.

Not to mention there are countless job and internship opportunities that Syndicate provides as well as helping students to create and pursue other opportunities of their own outside of Syndicate.

In less than a year at Syndicate I have made many connections with some very high status individuals within the film industry, built a solid résumé and portfolio, and have worked on a multitude of student films which prepared me for my first ever HUGE job with NETFLIX. A job that I had got with the connections that I had made through Syndicate.

All of my praise goes to Syndicate and Vinny Arizzo— A phenomenal instructor, someone who is highly involved in the film industry, a real person from the real world who knows real people problems, someone who has guided me, never let me down and is just an all around EXCELLENT guy who has changed my life and career for the better.

Over the past few months, I’ve developed tremendously both technically and artistically. Vinny and Jesse are more than just instructors—they’re inspiring mentors with a powerful mindset. They challenge you, support you, and make your biggest creative goals feel within reach.

When I first arrived at Syndicate, I wasn’t sure what area of filmmaking I was most passionate about. But through their immersive programs, I explored a wide range of roles—DP, AC, gaffer, grip, screenwriter, editor, and of course, director.

Thanks to Syndicate, I wrote, directed, produced, and edited my first short film. I also gained invaluable experience working on my classmates’ sets. One of the highlights was landing a PA role on a professional shoot—a music video for Beyoncé’s label, after Vinny's training.
