I have been a patient of Mont Belvieu Urgent and Family Care Clinic for many years. While theyāve had consistent issues with wait times ā both for walk-in and scheduled appointments ā I was pleased with the level of care I received when I finally was seen so I continued to rely on their staff for managing my care. Recently, I came back from vacation with a dry cough and feeling very run down. I called Mont Belvieu Urgent and Family Care Clinic the morning of June 2 to make an appointment for what I thought was bronchitis and was told that I didnāt need an appointment to be seen for that. When I questioned this, thinking that I probably shouldnāt be sitting in a waiting room with other potentially contagious people since my cough was very much out of control, the receptionist indicated that my only option was to come in as a walk-in. I immediately left the house and went to the clinic. Check-in was quick, painless and I was brought back quickly to an exam room. I was swabbed and the results of that swab showed that I tested positive for parainfluenza (croup). Having existing breathing problems (asthma & COPD), I asked that my normal inhalers be refilled, took the steroid shot that was offered, and antibiotics were called in to my pharmacy. That evening, my symptoms got worse so the following morning, June 3, I called the clinic again. I was told that the lady I saw yesterday wasnāt working today so Iād need to come back in and see the person who IS working today. I questioned this since Iād already paid to see someone and was merely asking for additional prescriptions to be called in to treat my symptoms. After a brief hold, I was told that someone would call me back. This was at 10:30 a.m. When I hadnāt received a call back by 4:30 p.m. that day, I called again in hopes that I could still get something called in and filled before the pharmacy closed for the day. After a 15-minute hold, I was told to go to the Emergency Room. I immediately questioned this, as I had waited five hours for a call back ā only to be told to go to the ER? I was told yes and when I said that it was completely unacceptable to blow off a patient for five hours before telling them to go to the ER, the lady on the phone āNatalieā hung up on me. I called back and was immediately put on hold. I asked for an office manager and when he picked up the phone, I explained all of the events of the previous and current day. He agreed that it was unacceptable for me to have waited around all day for a call back (which never happened) only to be told to go to the ER. He told me if I would go to Patients ER, he would call ahead and make sure my copay was waived. I explained that 1) I donāt have a copay with my insurance ā I have a $6000 deductible, 2) Patients ER is not in my network, and 3) I have no out-of-network coverage so the cost of that visit would lie completely on me alone. The only ER I would be able to visit and have it be covered by my insurance is San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown and visiting that ER would've been much easier at 10:30 a.m. instead of 4:30 p.m. He assured me that he would look into this and call me back as soon as possible. It is now June 5th and I have yet to receive that call back. I hope that some of the newer facilities opening up in the area are in my network so that Iām able to establish care with a facility that values patient care, and can manage to return...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMont Belvieu Urgent Care no longer feels like the reliable clinic it used to be. Getting someone on the phone is a struggleāIāve heard there may be phone issues, but whatever the case, it makes communication incredibly frustrating. When you do get through, youāre told the issue is being handled, but thereās no real follow-up.
I went in for a simple prescription renewal for a medication Iāve been on for a while, and the dosage was entered incorrectly. Thankfully, the pharmacy caught the mistake but it took 86 phone calls over four days to get three conversations before it was resolved. Yes, eighty-six.
The overall experience felt rushed and impersonalāvery different from when Joan Wood was there. The level of care and attention has clearly declined. I hope they make the necessary improvements to get back to the standard the community once trusted.
Update 10/30/2025: āļøāļøāļøāļøāļø I decided to give Mont Belvieu Urgent Care another chanceāand Iām so glad I did! From the moment I walked in, I was impressed. The lobby is beautifully decorated, the chairs are super comfortable, and the TVs added a nice touchāone playing great music videos and the other showing a cozy fall scene.
The front office staff were warm and welcoming, the nurse was absolutely fantastic, and the provider was attentive, professional, and very helpful. Every part of my visit exceeded expectations.
Iām genuinely happy I gave them another opportunity. Mont Belvieu Urgent Care has truly become the place for my healthcare needs. Iāll definitely be backāthank you for the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe only reason this place has 1 star is because you have to select something. My actual review is -10 stars! This place is hands down the absolute worst clinic Iāve ever had to deal with. Besides having Long waits at 2 1/2 hours or over and finally leaving, the receptions up front are rude and inconsiderate, sure theyāre busy but leaving people on hold then hanging up on them like we donāt matter then us calling again and answering and when you tell them āhey I was on hold for 20+ minutesā and they hang up on you again like theyāre excuse of being busy is more valuable than the patientās time. I tried to reschedule a appt and that took almost 2 hours but I just cancelled and will never go here ever not will I trust them with my kids. And let me add this isnāt a one time thing this is days of trying to call with hang ups and long holds. Itās ridiculous, and just unprofessional. Honestly I donāt even know how this place is still operating. Not too long ago they actually left a patient in a room till closing, they locked up everyone left and left that patient in there. Luckily that patient walked out to see what was taking long and it tripped the alarm. If you read this review and decide to still go, just remember youāve...
