Mont Belvieu City Park — Attraction in Mont Belvieu

This park was nice, the splash pad was nice and kids enjoyed it but was SUPER SUPER DISAPPOINTED IN THE NUMBER OF PICNIC TABLES AROUND SPLASH PAD !!! I say that because after getting a table by pad within 20 minutes a lady walks up asking if we had this table "RESERVED" I said no and she proceeded to tell us she had reserved the tables for a birthday party and asked us to move. I asked her if she had a receipt proving it because there are NO SIGNS showing it was reserved she could not provide one. To avoid the police from being called we went and SHARED a table with another family. GUESS WHAT HAPPENED WITHIN 20 MINUTES OF SITTING AT THE SECOND TABLE THE SAME THING HAPPENED !!!!! A different lady came and asked us same question about having those tables reserved. Again they could not provide a receipt and no signs either around this table. So to avoid police being called we got our stuff and just left the park with 4 very UNHAPPY grandkids. I will be calling the parks department on Monday and find out about this. There is a big covered area that other birthday parties where being held. Maybe the ladies reserved that area but instead pushed people out of the tables around splash pad because that way they could have better party. Parks department needs to do something about this because it could have gotten pretty heated. So after further research it looks like only ONE canopy the white one is the only one reservable around the splash pad. So basically we were run out for the reason above. The people saw the one already being used and decided to run us off the one we were at. Parks department will hear an ear full on Monday due to their lack of control of which ones are supposed to be reserved and which are not. They need an official to check each party at the beginning of each allotted time to make sure everyone is correct and not upsetting others that came to enjoy the park...

I love this park. It's clean, it has multiple activity spaces including a playground that boasts a dinosaur/archeologist themed sandbox, an upgraded jungle gym set that looks like you're climbing through the skeletal structure of a prehistoric creature, and a regular playground set with at least 2 slides and a ramp for disabled kids to get into the actual play set.

There are two swing set areas located in separate spots at the park. It's like they knew kids always fight over this and supplied extra to accommodate the demand. One of the sets has 2 swings dedicated to disabled children. However, they do not have straps but they seem slopped enough that you don't need them. The park has a lovely bridge over an pond that boasts ducks, turtles, frogs and fish. On the other side of the bridge is a eco friendly sprinkler park with a sunken pirate ship theme. There are multiple covered seating areas surrounding it too for the rents lol. There are also bathrooms easily accessible by the pavilion which can be rented out for parties.

I have not fished here but I see boys with their dads doing that here too. Oh, and there is a running trail that winds through the park. I see moms take advantage of that feature while their kids play safely while still in view.

Mont Belvieu:The park has beautiful scenary. The park has lots to offer, from fishing, baseball, jogging, numerous play areas, water pad, picnic areas an more. Our kids love everytime we visit. We as parents have noticed that on every visit there was no patrol out. If you bring your kids here make sure you keep your attention on them at all times. Things could go left very quickly. The pond area has beautiful ducks but also venomous snakes be cautious. A child was almost bitten while we were visiting. Another thing I will add on different occasions while visiting this park,we have experienced teenagers smoking weed by the water pad an pond and play area... making our visit pretty short each time. I would give it 5 stars if there was patrol officers out more often to control the nuisance behavior by teens. But overall everytime has been a blast for our family. Just having that extra security gives you peace at mind and you can really have fun knowing you and your children are for the most part safe if patrol officers came out. Gene green park beltway 8 has Harris county deputy on duty all the time. It's very comforting to know....
