I will make it a point to schedule all tire needs here, if at possibleā¦. & I live in Little Rock!
I am making frequent trips down to LA & on my recent travel, I had a minor blowout on rear driver tire. I couldnāt get the lug nuts off (who designs those monsters?!), was about 20 minutes south of Monticello in the middle of just trees & highway AND a bad storm had started. Wonderful hubby burned the internet up from work in LR & found Monticello Goodyear, who said they actually had my size tires in stock & recommended a local tow company they do business with. Herb at Robās Towing was so helpful, had David out to change tire within 20-30 minutes (insurance companyās service was going to be about an hour) - he had the spare tire on in no time, so I headed back to Monticello for new rear tires.
Was greeted kindly by April at Goodyear Monticello when I slid in with the rainy storm weather. When I asked about the quality of the tires, she shared that the ones we were quoted were good tires, with a 55k warranty but they had 85k warranty tires that were only about $10 more apiece, so went that route. Iāll most probably not own this car for 85k more miles but that was just a better deal.
They started on my car as soon as I got there while I waited in reception area, chatting with April. After a bit, a gentleman came in from the shop area & asked me to come look at my car up on the lift (I did not get his name, but he had gray hair & a van dyke-style beard). He very patiently pointed out the other 2 tireās horrible condition - exposed wires, notched inside, etc. - it was a miracle Iād not had a worse experience already with more dire repercussion. I also remembered at an appointment a year or more ago that our dealership had pointed the need for new tires & weād forgotten about it, probably because I work remotely so donāt burn the roads up. Needless to say, I left with 4 new tires & peace of mind.
As I went to pay & asked about paying for the Tow Co. that came out to put my spare on, April informed me that they had already added it to my total, as they do a lot of business with them, so Herb drops by to pick up payments from them periodically. Kind of unrelated: while I was waiting, a young guy came in & talked to the staff about a service that his grandpa had sent him in for. When he asked about payment, they told him not to worry, that theyād been doing business with his grandfather for years & knew heād drop in to pay the bill. I shared that to say that being a small town definitely has its merits!
So, although it was an unplanned expense, the honesty, integrity & speediness of this business were so very impressive - I will literally plan my roadtrips down to LA to coincide with being able to use Monticello Goodyearās services!
Side note: my husband got a call after Iād gotten back on the road to say that Iād forgotten my favorite sweater on the chair, but they were holding onto it for my return trek home....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIn November of 2021 I took my Toyota Highlander (2016 model) to Goodyear in Monticello, Arkansas. I was informed that my front breaks and rotors needed to be replaced. At that time I was charged by Goodyear $344 for parts (breaks and rotors for the front) as well as labor. I started having issues with them not long after the work was done, but could not afford to have them looked at during that time. Once I was able to I took my vehicle back to them to let them know of the issues that Iād had (grinding and shaking of my vehicle). They were going to charge me for the labor, $98 once again. The breaks have a lifetime warranty, and they refused to give me a discount although I had just been there a few months prior to have them both replaced. I took my vehicle to another mechanical shop in Star City due to them refusing any sort of discount. Here I was informed that my rotors were NEVER replaced although Iād been charged for new breaks, rotors and the labor to have them replaced ($344). I experienced the worst customer service with Goodyear, not to mention the fact that I was lied to about what was done to my vehicle and charged for something that I just had to pay someone else to do. Leaving this review for my sister...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI do not recommend this place. I had some work done on my car a couple weeks ago, I never got an invoice or was told an estimate. I just got a call saying it was done. However, it wasn't, the car broke down almost immediately. That's not even the bigger issue. When i wasn't given an estimate I left a review here on Google, stating the service I was given. When my car broke down again a couple days later I brought my car in again since they obviously didn't fix it the 1st time. My husband was confronted by the owner Jack. He had read my review and refused to look at my car if I didn't take my review down. This is an extremely small town and there was no where else that could take my car so I had to give in. They still weren't able to fix my car in the end anyway.
This man was extremely unprofessional and rude. I had originally given 3 starts, now 1. 0 if I could. If he had just apologized for not giving en estimate before working on my car I would have taken the post or at least given them a better rating on my own. I get that mistakes happen, but if you are going to get in my husband's face and act like a bully then you get the karma...
