Monticello Coffee Company — Restaurant in Monticello

During a recent business trip, I researched the best coffee spots in town and chose Monticello Coffee based on its high ratings. Unfortunately, my experience did not align with the glowing reviews.

I arrived at the drive-thru around 7:15 AM and was the only car in line. After placing my order, I was informed that there would be a long wait for drive-thru orders. When I inquired about the estimated wait time, I was told it would be approximately 15 minutes. Given that I was unfamiliar with other coffee options in the area, I agreed to wait. However, I was then asked to repeat my order, despite having just provided it moments before.

It may be beneficial for the business to communicate on its website that preordering is recommended to reduce wait times for in-person and drive-thru orders. Additionally, the overall service at the drive-thru did not feel particularly welcoming or appreciative, which added to the disappointment.

As for the coffee itself, it was average and not necessarily worth the extended wait. While I have not explored other cafes in town for comparison, I will likely opt for a different establishment on...

I had the Greek wrap and Lavender Lemonade.

The Greek wrap was flavorful, yet light. The vegetables were very crisp, and I absolutely loved the hummus inside! Even the tortilla wrap was quite savory.

I wanted to try the lavender tea, and I wasn't disappointed -- it tastes exactly what it sounds like. The lavender is slightly powerful, but if you like lavender, you'll really enjoy it. Fresh and sweet.

I enjoy the atmosphere of this shop/bistro/restaurant.. whatever you'd call it. It smells wonderful every time I come in. Right now, I can smell the grill at lunchtime, along with -- and always -- the wonderful coffee...

Absolutely love this coffee shop! The coffee was great - we ordered white mocha and a cuban, which according to the true Cuban in the bunch was on point! We also got a delish blueberry lemon muffin - all I can say is YUM. Also got the Turkey and Bacon Pinini - delish. I bought a coffee cup, which I was told each one is handmade and none are the exact same - special! The atmosphere of the place is so cozy and adorable! If you don't stop here you're missing out on a jewel...
