Once & Again Consignment — Local services in Montville Township

I visited this store on Sunday 12/8/2019, and found a sofa that my wife and I loved. The owner, Gina, was not in the store so we were not able to agree on a price until the manager spoke with Gina. They are closed on Monday, so on Tuesday we had agreed to a price during business hours, and being that my wife and I work 1 hour away from the store the manager agreed to take our credit card to hold the items and promised NOT TO SELL THEM, knowing that we would come in and pay cash on Wednesday evening, after we finished work. Received a call from Gina on Wednesday 12/11 at noon, she bluntly stated, "I sold the sofa to someone else, do you still want the other piece?" Extremely unprofessional. Terrible business practice. Did they get more from the other customer, probably, but I would have matched the price HAD I GOTTEN A CALL! Didn't even get a chance to do that. They gave me false sense of security by taking my credit card number meanwhile it was meaningless and they didn't think twice to give me a courtesy call being that they agreed with me on a price!

I understand the policy, but if you accept my credit card number and tell me you won't sell it, then I expect that you keep your word. They have nice stuff, prices are somewhat reasonable for most items, but the staff/management is not the most professional....

Great finds at this shop. Many from Estate Sales. Excellent condition of all merchandise. Great prices. Everything from jewelry, designer bags, shoes, furniture, home decor, art work and wall hangings. While I have only visited the Towaco store, they also have a Madison location. Gina must never sleep because she makes everything look wonderful. This is a store you should not skip.

Update: Well, I have continued to shop at this store and found so many things I don’t think I would easily find else wear. I purchased approximately 3 picture frames that definitely seem like they were made a long time ago, sturdy, incredible craftsmanship. I purchased a wooden table that can seat 4 that has a chess board on one side of the inlay and backgammon on the other. It has been used in my sons hangout area. I found a couple old style incredibly made perfume bottles and little decorative boxes for my vanity.I love this store there is always something...

Gina hosted an estate sale at my parents house in May 2024. She was an absolute joy to work with. She treated each and every single item of my parents belongings with care and compassion...and it was ALOT of items. Her professionalism and her personal demeanor is what really made me know I made the right choice with hiring her and her team. There are not enough words I can express to Gina for making me feel comfortable and at ease with this difficult process. I highly reccomend Gina and her team- you will not be disappointed with her!
