We stopped into this business on our way through town and attempted to enter the observation tower. At this point the older female employee said “no dogs allowed”.We told her that he is a service dog and he was wearing a vest clearly marked “SERVICE DOG”. We told her that you cannot deny access to a service dog. She said I don’t make up the rules. The owner told me no dogs allowed. We informed her that it is a misdemeanor in the State of Michigan for herself not the business if she denies access. She asked if we wanted her to call the owner because she cannot allow the dog to go up. We said yes call him. We waited until the owner arrived. He asked us “what’s the problem”? We explained the situation again. We explained that it is against the law to deny access to a Service dog. He went behind the counter, they talked quietly, he then informed us that they can deny anyone they want, and we could not take our service dog with us up in the tower. We tried to show him the laws for ADA protections for individuals with service dogs, they did not even want to look. We will never stop at this shop again nor would we recommend this to anyone that cares about Americans with...

We have been coming here for the last 7 to 8 years every single year and spend alot of money here each year. Liked the store until today. I was in here with my 9 year old son looking at the wind chimes he kept touching them making them make noise. I reminded him 2 times to quit but kids will be kids . He WAS NOT HARMING THEM JUST TOUCHING THEM AND MAKING NOISE. THE who I presume to be owner literally screamed at him to not break her things and get out of her store. He ran out of the store crying, and she had the audacity to say we arent doing a good job as parents obviously because he was reminded 2 times not to touch them. HE IS A 9 YEAR OLD BOY are you kidding me. If he was breaking things ok I get it. He literally touched the damn things to make noise. If it was the owner they should be ashamed of themselves for screaming at a child and making them cry. We WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO THIS STORE ever again and we come up every single year. If your going to look at the bridge I reccomend the bridge view park right by the state police station it's free with a beautiful view and your kid prolly wont...

Very rude lady who works here. Accused my son of stealing when all he did was pull a piece of paper from his pocket and put it back. I'm talking about the paper that comes with a mood ring when you buy it - he had purchased one elsewhere and was comparing the two.

She also yelled at me as I started to go upstairs asking if a had paid her. Very rude about it and she was very dismissive when I told her someone else in my party had already paid for all of us. They also wouldn't allow us to take our paid-for merchandise up with us.

There are 100 stairs to the top of the tower. The view is beautiful but the tower sways badly and shakes. Definitely needs some major updating.

Safe to say I won't...

Best $1 spend in a long time- it was fun climbing up the old stairway and seeing all the names. But the finale - “The View” of Lake Michigan and the Mackinaw Bridge was worth the climb. The gift shop was fun to browse. There is a restroom available. Easy parking and it’s a quick stop while traveling. The ladies were super friendly and let you shop. Check out the ceiling and walls made of birch parchment- pretty nostalgic! Enjoyed our stop. Great postcards!

Supposedly, this place is owned by the same family that owns Castle Rock. We have climbed Castle Rock many times in the past. This place is much better! For $1, you can climb to the top of the small windmill and get a great view of the Mackinaw Bridge. The gift shop has many items that will delight your children. I especially love the birch ceiling. Gift shop also has restrooms. Great place to stop if you are passing through.
