My husband's nephew just turned 13, and his grandma(who was raising him)had been planning to host his party here. Sadly, she passed away right before Christmas, and we took in our nephew. She hadn't said much about it; no reservation made, no invitations sent, etc. It was simply be a plan she had that unfortunately, wouldn't be seen through. She must have mentioned it to others though, because my husband received a message on Facebook from someone at her church asking about it. When she found out, this beautiful woman who's name I won't leave because I haven't gotten permission, offered to continue the planning and throw the party for him still! Now, I haven't been to a bowling alley in years, so i was 1/2 expecting a dim, rundown, smoked filled interior like I recall from the 80's! We walked into a fun, clean, well lit, and all around welcoming environment! The staff were friendly and helpful. The music they played was enjoyed by all ages, the pizza was a hit, and the kids had so much fun on the lanes! Even the little ones had a colorful (I think dinosaur) ramp to help get the balls down the lane! The family that hosted did an awesome job setting it up with our nephews favorite basketball team as the theme! I hadn't met or spoken to the woman until I arrived, and when I heard the way this came together, wow, I had to try really hard not to cry. She called and set up the reservations, fully expecting to take it on herself, and found out the owner of Potter's Alley, knew our nephew through Boy Scout's, and offered to take care of the cost of the lanes! This man runs an amazing business you can tell he cares about! I even saw him look at the names on the screen and made a labeled, lidded cup for each kid! His staff was always smiling and attentive. Then I found out a baker in town heard about the party and chose to make his beautiful basketball cake and cupcakes! I realize this review isn't just about the amazing experience we had here at Potter's Alley, it's about our whole Morton community! Losing the matriarch of my husband's family, and taking in his nephew is a life changing experience that we haven't quite grasped yet. But, we are so grateful and appreciative of the way so many people have shown us we are not alone in this! The amount of love and support this community has shown during this trying time, speaks to not only how much my mother in law was loved, but to how incredibly kind and thoughtful people here are! Thank you, everyone, for the amazing afternoon! It meant the world to not only the birthday boy,...
Read moreWent here for a team outing with coworkers. This was my first time in Potter’s Alley. I have been to a lot of bowling alleys and this is by far the cleanest. It is under new ownership and it shows. Everything has been done really well. The food here was pretty good! I tried a cheese pizza and toasted ravioli. I don’t drink alcohol so I can’t speak to that but I can tell you they have some Pepsi and some Coke products on fountain. Yes.. BOTH!! This made me pretty happy since I am a Mountain Dew drinker. There are a few bar games (darts, pool). They are up to date on a lot of technology. They have pretty sweet digital juke box, free guest WiFi, and a lot of stats on your bowling game (such as ball speed, potential score, etc). I highly recommend trying this place out! I’ll definitely be bringing my...
