I bought a truck from this location last winter with “no known issues.” After driving it for a few days I noticed a loud vibrating noice so I brought it in to a local shop and they immediately said the vibrating was from a failing torque converter and the transmission needs to be replaced. I called another shop for their opinion and they said the same exact thing, and added that this was a very common problem for this particular model. I brought the truck back to motley and they said they would look into it. I provided the slip from the other shop with the diagnostics. They disregarded what the other shops were saying and beat around the bush looking for a different problem that wasn’t there, instead of acknowledging that I bought this truck from them with a failing transmission. If you go read their reviews it shows what a great mechanic shop they are so there’s no way they didn’t know this was a serious transmission issue, especially if this is a common issue with that model of truck. They continued to beat around the bush and avoid the real problem. Before coming to get the truck back I said on the phone “so looks like I’ll have to get a new transmission huh” and all they said was “well you got a good deal.” Classic response from a used car dealer I guess… The problem continued to get worse so I got the transmission replaced and the transmission issues were resolved. If you see something on their lot that looks too good to be true, I’d recommend a thorough conversation with a trusted mechanic before...

A few weeks ago my daughter, son, and nephew broke down 80 miles from home. She called AAA and we are incredibly grateful she was put in touch with AutoSmith. They didn’t have any tow trucks available right away but when they found out her situation they sent Dalton (I believe he was a parts or shop manager) to pick the kids up and bring them to the shop until we could pick them up. When Dalton arrived he looked at the car and figured out it would be a pretty quick fix. Not only did he bring the kids to the shop but he sent a tow truck out to get the car right away AND they fixed it as soon as the car got to the shop. Their customer service is incredible! I met the boys at the Motley location when my transmission died on my GMC 2500HD, so I thought. Service Mgr Jason was super in getting my truck picked up right away and diagnosed that morning! It was the transfer case and Jason gave me options of rebuilt or used and how much it would cost depending on my choice. I chose used and the boys had my truck ready to roll that same evening. I picked it up the next day. The bill was what Jason had quoted me and my truck hasn't shifted that nice since it was new. Really appreciated the quick response and great work.
