Matt is a miracle worker. Having survived/sustained multiple traumas/fractures, strokes, etc., I have lived in chronic pain for over 30 years. In my experience, pain is exhausting, stressful and makes you feel out of control of, and betrayed by your body. It’s like being at war with your nervous system and it wins far too often. I spent a useless decade or two on every kind of drug the pharmaceutical industry had to offer, been treated by countless orthopedists, chiropractors, neurologists, neurosurgeons, physiologists, acupuncturists, chronic pain specialists, podiatrists, psychiatrists, psychologists, biofeedback sessions, a rolfer and many other physical therapists but none have ever listened to and/or helped me the way Matt has. When I first saw him he was able to integrate a myriad of seemingly bizarre random symptoms which made no sense to doctors down to the root cause in minutes and offer both relief and hope for improvement in the quality of my life for the first time in six months. He is able to substantiate your pain, in a sense validating your daily invisible war with your brain, nerves, joints and/or muscles, it is real, you're not crazy! Empathy and understanding such as this is hard to find in the medical world now, Matt has no agenda except to help you help yourself, which makes him a truly intuitive healer. He enables me to understand why I hurt, and patiently teaches me how to stretch/strengthen the damaged parts of my body in ways I can remember, manage and understand without hurting other problematic parts or causing my Fibromyalgia to flare. His dry needling skills are miraculous, one time I shoveled way too much snow and my right forearm was useless when I walked into his office. A few minutes later, I had the use of my arm again, it’s so relaxing! Whether you’re a long time pain warrior, someone with a recent injury/strange pain that won't stop hurting or someone experiencing post-Covid 19 chronic pain, save yourself now and go see Matt. He can help you interpret what you’re experiencing, why it’s happening and how to self manage your pain so you can take back control...
Read moreThe team of professionals at WMPT are top-notch. Mikaela worked with me for a few months after a Reconstructed ACL from a wakeboarding backflip-gone-bad. It was important to me that I get athlete-level support for my recovery. As I told my service providers, "I hope to get back to doing the thing that injured me as soon as possible. I'm not just walking back and forth from the couch to the beer fridge."
I tend to overdo things and my biggest concern was pushing myself too hard and re-injuring my knee - Mikaela was a great guide to recovery and spent a good amount of time ensuring my form was correct with each exercise, that my pain level was within expected thresholds and that my strength and flexibility were recovering at a favorable rate. They were easy to talk to about scheduling and expectations and I always left feeling better than when I had arrived.
Once my PT regimen was completed, they sent me home with some light equipment (bands and things) along with a guide for cross-training and at-home PT. I am walking normally, running kind of normally, doing at home plyometrics and lifting weights. My life is mostly back where it was pre-injury, except I am waiting until next season to wakeboard again. I couldn't have asked for a better team to help me through this and would encourage anyone to go here for your PT! They seriously delivered when I asked them to Make My ACL...
Read moreI am a former patient of Matt’s from when he worked as a PT at another practice. First and foremost, Matt is an talented PT, the best I’ve ever seen. He treated my shoulder after recent surgery to release frozen shoulder and repair my bicep tendon. As a result of years of shoulder problems, I have significant related neck pain. Matt recognizes that they are connected and spends the required time treating my neck with soft tissue massage, and other optional treatment (dry needling-it sounds painful but it is not) on top of my shoulder rehab. He recognizes that improving my neck pain is part of the big picture. Matt is patient, extremely empathetic, and he listens and maintains a positive and upbeat upbeat attitude, which is truly infectious! Matt is a kind and generous human being, which is important to me. I am certain that in no time at all, Matt’s practice will have more clients than he can handle. If you are one of his patients,...
