El mariachi more than that my expectations. It was the closest Mexican restaurant to the hotel we were staying at. That is why we initially chose here. Ecstatic that we ended up here. Not a lot of parking, not sure if there was more on the other side of the building. Huge outdoor dining area that would be useful in spring and summer. From the second I walked in, I loved the charm of the restaurant. They were way understaffed, the host who is also the bartender and waiter warned us ahead of time. He told us if we stayed we might have to wait for our food. That never happened. He was right on top of everything . He was visibly stressed, but did a fantastic job. I loved all the decor. Every table top and chair had a different theme. It depicted what life was like in Mexico in the past.

More importantly, the food was delicious. They start out by bringing homemade chips and salsa. I ordered the skirt steak tacos. The steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly, very tender. I thought I was in a steak house while I was eating it. My fiancé got a combination of chimichangas, tostada, and chicken enchiladas. She gave me one of the chicken enchiladas and one of the chimichangas. Both were amazing. Both plates also came with rice, refried beans, and guacamole. The rice was good, guacamole was even better. I’m not a fan of refried beans so I didn’t taste any. According to my fiancé, they were very good. For dessert, we had fried ice cream. It was made right in front of us. It was pretty much a hibachi show with ice cream and liquor involved. I had a video to attach, but apparently it’s too big to upload. Overall a great experience. I highly recommend this to anybody visiting or living in the area. Authentic Mexican...

we have been here a handful of times but unfortunately its only gone downhill with time.

the worst part of all was the worst waiter I've ever experienced in my life. this older gentleman never uttered hello, just a curt "what do you want" he even walked away while we were mid ordering and helped two other tables before coming back to our table to finish taking our order. we proceeded to get the most undrinkable spicy margaritas. we drink them regularly elsewhere and these tasted liked they left the jalapeño in the tequila for way too long. we couldn't even drink them. the food was fine but the waiter never checked in after the food was dropped. not once. we even had to ask another server if they could grab our check for us. he completed the checkout process without a single word to us. he was the least personable waiter I've ever experienced. he was unpleasant and honestly made us feel like a burden for even eating in the restaurant. this place would be better off if they let him sit in the back and count inventory. next time I'll head to Meredith for a much more pleasurable...

I've wanted to try El mariachi and finally did this past weekend for lunch. I was with a friend who lives in Southern California and she was skeptical before we went in - but she now thinks it's one of the best Mexican restaurants she's eaten at on the East Coast. I also loved it. It seemed like there was only two staff members working that day, the restaurant was half full and there were a few people eating outside, but the service was prompt and attentive and the owner came over to check on us and to see how we liked everything and he spent a few minutes chatting with us. Everything was delicious and fresh: the ice tea, the fresh chips, the salsa and the entrees: we ordered the steak quesadilla and enchiladas suizas. The steak was perfectly seasoned, worthy of a steak restaurant! The enchiladas suizas were fresh and zesty with terrific guacamole, lots of fresh lettuce. Downright delicious. My friend and I were delighted that we stopped here for lunch - really happy with the meal, and...

This is a great local Mexican restaurant. Having lived in Texas for many years, finding a very good Mexican restaurant in New England was a challenge. But I found it here. There is plenty of seating both inside and out, as well as seating at the well stocked bar. The dining area was clean and tables were cleared and wiped down quickly once vacated. Also, the bathrooms were clean. The staff was friendly, present, attentive and quick. The menu had a wide selection of meat, fish, and vegetarian dishes, the normal Mexican restaurant items plus some things I hadn’t seen before. They had a host of margaritas and other frozen drinks on offer. The homemade chips and salsa were tasty. Our food arrived quickly. I ordered the chicken fajitas which were great. The portion size was more than enough for the price. It was well cooked and came with peppers and onions, fresh guacamole and pico, rice, and refried beans. The price was more than reasonable considering the portion sizes. I will definitely come back!

Was very happy to discover this wonderful Mexican-run Mexican restaurant in the heart of the NH lakes district. Conveniently located on Route 25 in Moultonborough just near turn off towards Wolfboro and Castle in the Clouds - it couldn't be more convenient or adorable inside and out.The decor inside was very heart warming - brilliant painted/carved chairs from Mexico are the dominant decor, and the waitstaff is super friendly and accommodating. The outdoor tables are also good- had a nice meal with a group of friends outside in the summer and it was very nice. Food-wise, we had very nice combo platters which were fresh and very tasty.
