If you’re using the daycare, I hope the staff member has some common sense. We’ve been going the last few weeks and have left my daughter’s jacket and diaper bag without any issue. Today I was completely caught off guard when the employee
All other staff at the daycare have been more than kind! Now that I am aware of the jacket rule I will happily oblige but will not at all leave my daughter under this specific workers care. They do not wear name tags in the daycare so I don’t know her name to...
Read moreI come to the Y because I get a discount through my work and it’s not usually that busy, so I can easily use the equipment. Apart from that, I feel like it is not managed very well. The front desk people are not helpful and are often slightly rude and standoffish. My friend and I have both complained countless times about the creepy old men who stare at us while we workout. It’s a daily occurrence and they stare for the entire time and move to be near us. We have given them their names, but they refuse to do anything about it. The staff clearly don’t care about their members and their safety. So, we have had to talk to the many creepy men on our own. The equipment is often broken. The pads that you can use for the smith machine are awful, so my friend and I have to bring our own. The place is also messy at time with stuff all over the place. They don’t provide wipes, so it seems people don’t really clean the equipment off as often as they did when these were provided. Also, the hot tub was drained for a long time and it seemed there was little urgency to get it fixed. I was also disappointed at the fact that they were closed for a whole weekend due to less than an inch of snow. Overall a fine gym if you’re okay with creepy men staring at you and a mediocre environment. I’m wondering if the prices went up to “match competitive wages” for the workers to do nothing but sit on their...
Read moreI am deeply disappointed in Sealed Air YMCA. Two weeks ago, my stepmom took my two year old sister to this location and tried to buy a day pass for the kiddie pool. The woman at the front desk did not allow her to buy a day pass because supposedly she could not enter the pool wearing a hijab. Even after explaining that she is Muslim and wears the hijab for religious reasons AND had waterproof clothes the woman was rude to her and refused to let her enter. When I was made aware of this, I called the same day and was told that there is NO policy that states women are not allowed to enter the kiddie pool if they cover for religious reasons. The woman should have let my stepmom enter the pool with her daughter. I was told a manager would follow up with me but nobody did. After calling again, I was told once again that another manager would follow up with me and continued silence. It is absolutely evident the woman discriminated against my stepmom, and she has yet to hear an apology nor the actions that YMCA leadership plans to take to ensure that incidents such as these do not happen again. This should have been taken care of immediately, and only shows me that they do not care about creating inclusive and non-hostile environments for underrepresented...
