The Fade Co. — Local services in Mountain Grove

Figured I would try a local shop. Went in and sat down. No one said anything. Watched people cut hair for about 30 minutes until it was just me and a teenager getting his hair cut. Watched everyone clean up and walk back and forth and then disappear, reappear….go to the computer, walk outside, come back inside etc. Kind of feels awkward being the only person sitting in the waiting area and wondering if you are supposed to chase someone down and ask for a haircut or just wait in silence or leave. Ended up leaving not knowing what I needed to do to get a haircut or who to talk to. The cuts I watched looked great though. There is a desk in the back but no one was at it and you have to walk through the hair on the floor to get to it so I figured the people cutting hair would eventually say something like “do you have an appointment?” or some sort of dialogue other then avoiding eye contact and conversation...

I usually don't do reviews but this really got me. I had an appointment for last Monday at 2:30, got there and they were closed due to an emergency. No problem I get it, rescheduled appointment for today Friday. Got there a little early, had people in chairs. Waited until 2:45 when I had to leave to go change a flat my mom had. I apologized and asked before I left if I made it back before 3 if they could take me. Kyle said yes, I made it back 5 minutes till when I walked in, and there was another person in the chair. He said he had to take the kids in the chair before me, I said okay. After he finished he said he'd be right back, and disappeared into the backroom. Waited for 15 minutes before I left and went to Curl Up and Dye, where I was in and out with amazing professionalism. Tucker here did great on my hair last time, but after this week I won't be going back....

Let me start by saying 5 stars is not a fair rating, they deserve 10 stars.

I walked in one late Tuesday evening with no appointment, I had hair down past my shoulders and wanted a cleaned up fade with a combover and light beard trim. I asked if I needed an appointment, Kyle was waiting on another client but excitedly said he would clean me up. I showed him one picture of me from 4 years earlier and he looked at it for all of 5 seconds and confidently assured me he could do the cut.

45 minutes later I had the best haircut I have ever had and I found myself a new consistent barber.

Anybody looking for a place to get cleaned up, I would highly recommend this place. I’m sure everyone here is top notch with their skills, but Kyle definitely made a lasting impression, with his positive attitude...
