Alrighty folks, rolled into the Cinema 6 Theatre with my energetic trio of munchkins in tow, and I gotta say, this place is a solid choice for a family movie night in Virginia, MN. The staff here are top-notch, always sporting friendly smiles even when my youngest is tossing popcorn like it's confetti.
I've got a soft spot for the vintage vibe of this cinema. It's not your shiny new megaplex, but it's got charm and that's something you can't buy. The seats are comfortable enough, though a bit of a refresh wouldn't go amiss. The sound and picture quality are pretty good, and the ticket prices won't break the bank, which is a plus when you're buying for five!
Snack-wise, the popcorn is hot and buttery, and the candy selection could give Willy Wonka a run for his money. The only hiccup is the queues can get a bit lengthy during peak times, but hey, it gives you a chance to decide between the Twizzlers and the Milk Duds.
All in all, Cinema 6 is a decent spot for some family fun, serving up a generous helping of nostalgia with your popcorn. Four stars from this movie-loving dad, and an eager thumbs up from my three...
Read moreEdited July 2024; they have had the needed updates with recliner seats but should change their name to Cinema 4 as they only ever have 4 movies playing and almost always kid movies.
Updated July 2023 to add; they desperately need stadium seating, but the sound is MUCH better than their nearest competition and it's still clean, which cannot be said for other nearby theaters. Smells good, no sticky floors, nice staff.
If they updated I bet it wouldn't be empty all the time.
The place is kept pretty clean for an old theater and the employees were polite. The sound and picture quality is pretty good. The seats are dismal. Ancient rows with visible wear, cracked cup holders etc. The seats are off center in a couple of the rooms. The bathrooms are bizarre, the doors are so close to the toilets you can hardly get into a stall and close it. Overall this quaint small town movie house is in desperate need...
Read moreI absolutely adore taking my grandchildren to this theatre!! Most of the staff is incredibly kind and helpful and the manager has to be one of the nicest men in this town. One of the reviews I read mentioned that this theatre doesn't have seating any higher than floor level, which was a bit confusing to me. The floor is sloped, and if you don't sit right in the front row you should have no problem or discomfort looking at the screen. Cinema 6 is also kept nice and warm, and their prices are surprisingly affordable compared to the majority of the theatres I've been to in my lifetime. I recommend this theatre...
