My son never went through Cub Scout. Upon a friend's recommendation, we joined troop 80 and we never looked back! Even though he is a bit on the quiet side, he still finds his voice within the troop. It is a true boy led troop where they boys determine trip planning, lead meetings, and manage their own advancement. My son thrived in this environment and loved it. He is an eagle scout currently with the troop. Advancement is not pushed on the scouts. They choose to advance at their own speed.
