I have been a loyal follower of Tara's for years, if not decades! The clarity of her artistic vision and her commitment to sustainable practices are impressive. I secretly hoped that if I ever got married, I would have the opportunity to have her provide the florals for the celebration. In September of this year, my now husband and I were able to make this dream a reality, and we couldn't have been happier with her work!!
Tara took our loose verbal description + a handful of inspiration images and completely defined our wedding style. She scripted something along the lines of "a peacock walks into a secret disco garden" and 1,000% nailed the vibe we had in mind but could not articulate on our own. The design brief she provided us in her proposal helped guide so many design decisions along the way. She also included thoughts on supporting characters for her design, like a mixture of mismatched brass candlesticks (she knew how many and which vendor to rent them from).
For our reception, Tara created two enormous flower towers that flanked our sweetheart lounge (complete with ginkgo branches!), draped our long dining tables in amaranth and alliums and dahlias - it was an absolute feast for the eyes. Tara also created smaller bouquets that dotted the reception venue. My bouquet, my husbands boutonniere and our mother's wrist corsages were all little works of art on their own, with so much personality - talk about flair! We had compliments all night long on how impressive the florals were.
It's now almost 2 months later, and we are still enjoying 3 bouquets of dried flowers that are semi-permanently frozen in wedding day perfection.
Thanks you, Tara and team, for all of your hard work that made our reception absolutely magical, and 100% peacock walks into a secret...
Read moreAll I had to do was look at a few photos of Tara’s work online to know that she was the florist for me. Her work was unlike anything I had ever seen. As an artist myself, I knew I wanted to work with a florist who was also a true artist that approaches all of the work for her clients, with a fresh take on their ideas. After we met her, the decision to book her as our florist had only solidified further. She was incredibly friendly and down to earth and completely receptive and enthusiastic about all of my husband and i’s ideas. Which, only made us all the more excited to see what she would come up with for us. Let me just tell you that she blew us and all of our guests out of the water. I wanted to keep all of her work a secret as she was working on setting it all up so I could take it all in after it had all come together. It was the hardest thing I had to do all day, to not to spoil it for myself. The only time I cried all day was when she brought my bouquet in to the bridal suite for me to see.
My husband and I were one of the first couples to get married after the pandemic shut everything down back in early 2020. We wound up having to postpone our big day 3 separate times. And with each postponement, I worried most about losing Tara as a vendor if other couples had already booked her on our new dates. She was the one vendor I could not picture my day without. Luckily it all worked out and she brought all of our visions to life even better than we had envisioned them ourselves.
Overall, I could not recommend Splints and Daisies more than I do. If you want a truly unique take on your ideas and for you guests to still be talking about your florals weeks later, look no farther than Tara. I would give her more stars if it...
Read moreSplints and Daisies are not simply “florists”, but artists who masterfully weave petals, stems and leaves into the fabric of the venue! We came to Tara with a simple but challenging task of creating “An American Revolutionary Hobbit Hole in Autumn” at our family farm wedding in New Hope. But Tara is a creative genius whose deft understanding of botany and chromatics empowered her to create a verdant masterpiece exceeding our wildest dreams. With our only ask to limit the use of orange tones, she rendered a blossoming tapestry based on rich purples and plums alongside lush dark olive green vines; a divine contrast against the pale grey sky and the fiery red & yellow autumn trees as a background of our clear tent venue. Each seated table had a small personalized vivarium of flowers carefully placed in concert with the other tables but leading up towards the bucolic & pastoral chuppah and sweetheart table. There are no words to describe just how perfect these masterpieces were, so I urge you all to look at the photos we have posted with the review! All we can say is that even our most demure guests who are not preternaturally inclined to notice the flowers commented to us about how incredible the floral design was at our wedding.
Tara was also an exceptionally kind and patient vendor to work with during the planning and construction process, one who we expect would work well with any client! In short, there is nobody better to run your floral design than Tara and her team at Splints & Daisies! We only hope we have another occasion to use her again in the near future! Brava...
