One of the worst customer service experiences Iâve had in quite some time. We stopped into dicks to purchase a bike, as weâve been looking for a while. Spent about 20-25 minutes in the bike section trying to figure things out- not a single employee approached us to help. We decide on the bike we want and bring it to the front ourselves because again-not a single person attempted to help us. We get to the checkout, ready to pay, and a female employee interjects and states we canât purchase the bike because âtheyâre not like Walmart and they have to make sure the bike is safeâ. Having spent 30 minutes already there, weâre ready to leave and ask if we can just sign something stating the bike wasnât inspected and we donât want it inspected. She again states yeah weâre not like Walmart, we canât just let you take it. We ask again as itâs us assuming the liability and just wanting to purchase the bike at this point. She clearly had an attitude at this point, and gets on her walkie with someone and states we canât purchase the bike without an inspection but the inspector will be back at three. The tone, the way this was handled, everything about the experience just rubbed us the wrong way so we left the bike there and we are going to be taking our money somewhere else. I expect better from such a large company. Start by training your senior store members on how to speak to people and to lose the attitude with...

There were at least two in the "restricted" area but didn't feel I should be yelling for them to come out. Finally another clerk waited on me and was quite courteous and helpful. That's where my shopping experience went south. Cashier alert. No greeting. No smile. Tried to make small talk, did not participate. Only remarked it was "too early" for her brain to be working. Rang up the shoes, asked me if I wanted to donate to St. Jude (which I did) and asked her if she had ever seen their videos...stony look and then "yeah, we watched one." Apparently sick children do not faze her. She then rang up the full retail price instead of the sale price. After I swiped my card, I asked her to check if they were on sale. She gets on her ear mike and asks someone, then proceeds to run the order through again. I bring my card up to the swiper, not swiping, but waiting to run it again because she is refunding me 9.00. She hissed at me "Ma'am, I'm trying to refund your money." Gives me a look like you idiot, don't you know anything? I look at her and say "really?" Then she asks me to swipe my card and sign for the refund. Bad experience. I left there thinking it'll be a long time before I shop there again. And the male relatives will not be getting Dick's gift...
Read moreIn late December I went in this store to look for a brace for my hand for bowling. Do not carry. More recently I went in the store to look for microspikes for hiking. Do not carry. Again I went in the store to look for ear protection for shooting. Do not carry. Recently on the website I was looking at Under Armor leggings. This store does not stop the ones on the website. Selinsgrove in State College does but not this store in Muncy. They did have Under Armor 4.0 for $100 in the store but I don't need 4.0. Regular Under Armor is shown on the website but I have to have it shipped to me. They might as well close this store and open a real Sporting Goods store such...
