Fantastic theater ran by people who are passionate about movies and the moviegoing experience! The management cares about engaging with the community, evidenced by their social media presence and continued support of local filmmakers. The staff is always courteous and friendly.
As far as the accommodations—the popcorn is fresh and well buttered, the theaters and bathrooms are clean, the seats are comfortable (even though they're set to be upgraded), and the picture and sound quality of the movies is good. They have LIMITED PREVIEWS so you're not sitting there for half an hour before your movie actually starts!
I know going to the movies can be pricey, BUT keep in mind that The District does offer discounts on select movies every Tuesday, discounts for seniors on Wednesdays, and their rewards program makes it easy to earn freebies like tickets or small concession items (so make sure you sign up if you go often).

No slushies because they didn't get a new machine. Not sure of the thinking here...open the old theater the way it was after promising upgrades only to have to close it again for the promised upgrades. Sure you're doing free movies for kids and some discounts for seniors but I'm neither. We are going to keep going to either Shamokin Dam or Williamsport and take our popcorn...

Not a bad place, it’s nice, but sounds pour in from other theaters, AC feels like it doesn’t work, and some staff don’t seem as friendly as others. Disappointing experience, but it’s dead so you can usually get a big theater to yourself which is for sure a positive.
Edit: apparently a lot of the 5 star reviews are from staff and management themselves praising everything…just makes me feel uneasy to trust the place if that’s happening. It’s a nice building, let the real...
