First off let me start out by saying that my initial review was only Two Stars. The review is a little long winded but should be a must read in order to get to know what kind of shop and most importantly, shop owner you are dealing with. My first review was as follows:
They sounded good with what they told me they could do and in the end did not deliver. They said they would hook up a new antenna using my interior controls. They also said they can mount my new speakers flush onto my door panels. The girl at the counter assured me they could do this even after walking outside and looking at my car. I said cool because that is what I wanted. In the end they could not hook up the antenna the way I wanted it to be hooked up and said not to worry because they can get the right one for me within a week. The girl ADMITTED she made a mistake and sold me the wrong one. She also said that the installation took a lot longer than expected. Oh, and the speakers needed to have a big ugly spacer/adapter installed underneath them. Also when I got in my car I noticed one of the front speakers was falling off the door trim. Went back inside and asked them about it and the guy who worked on my car said it was already like that. I said, “BS it was not like that”. They took it back inside and said the only way they can fix it is if they do this and do that. I said whatever; just do what you got to do so that it doesn’t hang. (It’s a 20 year old car so I didn’t really care about it being perfect). She told me to call back on Monday to see when I could get the new antenna. Called back on Monday morning and she told me that it was an hours’ worth of labor to put the new antenna in. I told her that I didn’t feel that I should pay for the labor since they installed the wrong one. She said she would call me back and see what she could do. She never called back. I called her at the end of the day. She said, “Oh we called our warehouses and couldn’t locate the right one, sorry “and then hung up. Just like that!!. I’m not one for getting all pissed off about poor customer service so I said whatever, besides maybe one or two of you who read this review will go somewhere else. I justified not making it an issue by saying I just spent $380 on a $250 job, the fact that my car is already 20 years old, and maybe a few of you who read this don’t give this company your business. It was a total TJ job.
Fast forward about a week after the first review was written. I got a call by the shop owner, JT who said that he had read the review online. To my surprise, JT was not upset that I had written the review but more so that I was not a satisfied customer. JT asked that I bring my car in so that he could look at it and that he would do everything possible to make sure I was happy. Upon bringing in my car JT told me that these vehicles are a little hard to deal with as far as speaker installation. (I have an FZJ80 Land Cruiser) Nevertheless, he said that “We are a Custom Stereo Shop” and that I would be taken care of. I felt good about the conversation and left him my car. Four hours later he called me up to come look at the finished product. I was surprised; JT and his crew went above and beyond with the work performed. JT was honest with me and said that he thought his crew underestimated the work load the first time. JT needed to upgrade the speakers in order for them to fit and he was able to get the antenna to work how I wanted it to, all at No-Cost. I was an extremely satisfied customer. I kind of felt a little guilty at first because of the work they had to do but ah, I’ll bring him more business in the next week or two when I bring my other car in. In short, I do not think my first review was pre-mature. Secondly, I think JT is a stand-up guy who really cares about his customers, his shops customer service reputation, and the services he performs. I will definitely refer him...

So I came into the stereo shop asking to upgrade my head unit so I can add Apple CarPlay to it. The car already had an upgraded double den with DVD player on it, but I just wanted something with CarPlay. There was absolutely nothing wrong with my audio system or the stereo system, the only annoying thing about the previous system is it would tell me that I’m going over the speed limit and I did not know how to turn it off in the settings.
So I was very shocked and surprised when I went to go pick up the car up and they told me that the module that controls the amplifier was messed up and it would cost about $200 to replace it. I told them that it’s been working fine and In fact I used the navigation to get here. my car is a 2011 Corvette LT one and I figured maybe something went out because Murphy’s Law still exist. So I pay for the part they give me the keys. I go to my car and sit down to now play with my Apple car stereo system and the first thing that I notice when I put on my hazards on because I’m sitting in the parking lot is that my center console is now moving. I didn’t even leave the parking lot. I went inside and spoke to the receptionist. She was very kind and she told me that the installer said that the center console was broken when he received it. This is a 2011 Corvette that has low miles on it and sits most of the time and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with it mechanically electronically. I went back inside and requested the receptionist to come out, and I showed her how the dash was moving. She then told me that They would order the clips for center console that’s broken on Monday. As I drive away I can’t drive more than 100 feet Without the car audio cutting out because the center console which holds the stereo in place is moving the new double den apple CarPlay stereo. This is been the most irritating experience I’ve had with a merchant in a long time. I normally don’t leave reviews but after you go in and spend about $1100 and then you spend an extra $200 for something, I’m pretty sure they broke. It makes me extremely irritated that they just broke the center consul on my car and then implied that it was broken before it got there. I’m an honest man. I work extremely hard and it’s just disheartening when a company can look you directly in your face began to urinate on you and then call it rain.
The only good thing I can say is the receptionist was very kind and receiving of new information but other than that did not have a good experience.
Also, it’s the center console is broken not the clips, If this post is still up, the car was never resolved. You can message me For...
Read moreGood Morning, Everyone I wanted to take a moment to describe my encounter at the Advanced Car Stereo location and their service, their has been over several times I had to return back for malfunctioning to my stereo equipment, speakers, wiring, etc., being informed that the installer who worked on vehicle is no longer their working for company , it resulted in someone else working on vehicle, with several trips back to the shop for the same issues, which was constant let me remind you of returning for the same issue, resulted in a feeling as if I were an inconvenience to them and I noticed had to wait longer than others to be seen, when finally seen I was informed of outrages prices to install a wiring harness to a radio which was installed by them which I went from the Kenwood malfunctioned system that was installed back to the original Nissan Altima factory radio, which means I only now needed to fix this issue by going back to the original as a result I was quoted $250; then when I stated if I took the console apart and had the radio out I was then quoted $150 just to wire the wiring harness to the factory radio. Keep in mind I purchased the part which they did not have nor carry it was a part which had to be purchased; which I purchased and have the receipt. When I stated, “Wow $150” it was as if they price hiked as if it was like “Get gone, get out of here, right?” well I did not feel that way, until I was on hold then another person comes on the phone and states, as of today “We are no longer working on your vehicle.” As a business owner myself I was very surprised, I decided to write this and explain my experience, I hope this does not happen to anyone else; who goes into this shop signs up for their Credit Card service, pay over $2000 in equipment to less than a year of more than 7-8 times of returns, to still make payments on that credit card, to not having the ability to use the items you purchased, and then after spending to ask for more money out of you, then being told we not seeing you anymore, was a big WOW for me, well later that day I decided to go to the Advanced Car Stereo in Moreno Valley, guess what people the same company $50 for the service of the wiring harness, when I called Temecula to inform I was quoted “Different franchise and ownership” their you have it people, I hope you do not experience what I went through, this is all facts and I challenge the owner to respond to this in public if...
