It's no different than any other department/grocery store. A major plus in my book, are that the employees are around, readily available and appropriately educated in most departments, like they should be. But especially the department they're assign to. If they can't help you or answer a question to your satisfaction, they won't just give you some random answer which in most cases would be wrong or pass you off to some other associate like you see happen all she much in other stores. There's nothing worse than being passed around from associate to associate only because they don't know how to help, when they should just take you directly to the item you're looking for or find someone that is more knowledgeable in the department that your item may likely be in. I know that this type of behavior goes on in most, if not all department stores and or any store for that matter to the best of my knowledge. Mainly because I've worked in many different retail / convenient stores for the better part of 12 Years. Fun fact, most associates are lazy but not as lazy as the department / store managers. In some cases there are still a handful of associates and managers that care enough about your satisfaction during your visit to the store that they will go above and beyond to make sure you get everything you need even if you just came in to get a new toothbrush and you walk out with a full cart general merchandise and groceries that will last for a month. That's how good they are because they connect with you on a personal level and get you to believe that you need to purchase these items again but in reality you don't because you probably already have most of everything you just put in your cart. LOL Believe you me, there are still many places that are like this still to this day, that's mostly because a lot of people can't travel very far from their apartments or homes because of the lack of public transportation that's provided for the elderly. Correction I mean the lack of public transportation that's NOT provided for the elderly and the disabled. But all in all a Meijer is a pretty good...
Read moreSo sick of this being the only store in this area. They have completely monopolized this area and couldn't care less about serving the people. Consistently do not have basic items on the shelves that even their website says they have. This is now the second holiday in a row that they have run out of frozen hashbrowns, which apparently everyone uses and they don't care to order a sufficient amount or stock the shelves. This happens every year so they are aware and don't bother to do better. Never in my 35 years has any store at any time been out of hasbrowns. Ran in to 2 other people within minutes also looking for this item.. its unacceptable! ORDER MORE!! Also out of eggnog!? YOURE OUT OF EGGNOG BEGORE CHRISTMAS? Why in the world are you not ordering sufficient amounts of items that prople in your area have a tendency to buy??? Whoever does your ordering needs to be fired, whoever is managing your stockers needs to be fired, and it appears you need better management altogether. And after all of these reviews, not one of them has been addressed by your company. Because you just simply don't care. Meijer thinks they are so big and invincible that they can do whatever they want and still earn profit. At some point, you WILL get competition, and by then it wont matter. I hope another store gets to this are and your sales dwindle! I will make a concerted effort in the new year and moving forward to utilize Sam's club, Walmart, and D & W. So sick and tired of dealing with rude employees, lack of basic groceries, even empty hand sanitizer dispensers in your store at a time when you're requiring masks. Poor poor service from this company who doesn't care for...
Read moreI stopped last night to buy Freshpet cat food because the Henry store was out. I got to the refrigerated section and there was no cat food in it. I picked up a red phone and asked if there was someone who could check for more in the back and was told someone would be right out. Fifteen minutes later when no one had come I finally approached a gentleman who was stocking dairy and asked if he could possibly check for me. He explained that he worked in dairy and walked me to a red phone telling me that I just had to pick one up to get help. I relayed that I had already done that some fifteen minutes ago. He talked to someone on the phone and told me the "boss" would be out right away to help me. More than ten minutes later the same white haired gentleman returned to stocking dairy and saw me waiting and put up his hands in surprise and asked if I had not yet been helped. When I told him that no one had shown up this time either he came to the pet department and took note of what I was looking for and said he would try to find it for me. He emerged about ten minutes later with everything he could find and together we found the pet food I was looking for. It took me thirty minutes to get someone who didn't even work in that department to help me. Kudos to him for going out of his way to help me, but what poor service from the rest...
