Stop & Shop — Local services in Nantucket

If there was another full-service grocery store on the island that did a better job than this place, I'd shop there in a heart beat. Though there are a quite a few nice employees there, but in some cases, I have found some staff to be rude and unhelpful. The guys who take care of the carts are lovely, and some of the front desk staff is super sweet. The cashiers change, it seems, every week with the influx and outflow this town has. The store's conditions are fair, if not poor. I've picked up moldy produce, had colleagues purchase expired infant formula, to name a few. I've even heard people hired by Stop & Shop corporate call the place a "terrible store". They are constantly running out of items, they jack up the prices because it's Nantucket (I'm sorry but that excuse can only get you so far on this island.....), and their produce is constantly not up to snuff. I'm sure it's not their employees' faults who try their hardest to manage the store on the island, but their corporate HQ needs to pay more attention to the fact that their highest grossing store in the chain has the lowest quality food items on the island (especially when we're paying, on average, 15-20% more per bag of groceries when compared to off island grocers,...

Great Grocery Store. I just wish they had more coupons and more sales. Some of the prices are pretty high compared to other stop n shops. Customer Service is great except for the deli department; totally needs improvement. They will see you standing there waiting to be assisted and totally ignore you... Then if you ask for something they will be quick to tell you ask someone 7 feet away from them and when you go ask the guy at the sushi bar he then tells you to go ask the same peraon that sent you to him at the deli😐 Like they need a big improvement. I also don't like that the scanners don't work most of the time and no one knows how to fix them and you have to walk all the way to the customer service department to get assistance. I previously worked at this company, and while working with them I would always get bullied by the workers there, I would complain to the managers and human resource and they did absolutely nothing to fix the issue, other than tell me to ignore it.Eventually the bullying turned physical , and I complained again and they did nothing, and when I finally decide to use self defense against the bully they fired me, and did not fire the bully.
