It's with a heavy heart that I'm compelled to share my recent experience at N&CO. Despite my initial hesitation to write this review, the overwhelming positive feedback I'd seen led me to believe I was in capable hands. However, my visit left me with profound disappointment and regret.
I arrived on a weekday evening for my appointment with Marissa, seeking a long bob and acknowledging the necessity of a significant cut for the sake of my hair's health. Regrettably, the outcome bore little resemblance to the envisioned style. Rather than the clean, sharp angles characteristic of a bob, my haircut appeared haphazard and uneven, a far cry from what I had hoped for.
Though initially enamored by the transformation, I later realized that my satisfaction was skewed by the longer left side of the cut, while the right side remained noticeably askew. Despite this, I proceeded with payment, only to be met with an unexpected $5 surcharge for the haircut and limited tipping options upon card payment, setting the tone for further financial dissatisfaction.
A concerning incident occurred during my visit when, upon returning from the bathroom, I sensed a private conversation between Marissa and Norma, the owner, regarding the inadequacy of the haircut. Despite this acknowledgment, no steps were taken to rectify the situation before my departure. The blatant disregard for quality control is deeply disheartening and speaks volumes about the salon's commitment to customer satisfaction.
Upon closer examination of my hair the following day, the extent of its unevenness became painfully apparent. I promptly reached out to Norma, expressing my dissatisfaction and requesting either a partial refund or corrective measures. While she offered to reassess the cut and make amends, it became evident that any attempt to rectify the situation would entail further cuttingâan option I was reluctant to entertain, considering my initial instructions regarding the desired length.
In terms of service, while Marissa exhibited a pleasant demeanor and demonstrated proficiency in hair washing and blow-drying, her lack of expertise in cutting became evident. It's clear that additional training and education in hair cutting techniques are warranted to ensure consistent quality across all services offered.
Despite my hopes for resolution, Norma's subsequent silence and failure to provide a partial refund only compound my disappointment. In light of this experience, I'm unable to recommend N&CO to others, urging prospective clients to exercise caution before entrusting them with their hair transformations.
Editing the review to include give response: My review was solely on the haircut. I never once mentioned color in my review and I based it only on the cut. Iâm not sure why you felt I was lying because I accurately described your stylists subpar work. Anyone who reads the review will see the cut in itself. Yes I asked for a quote on color, and Marissa suggested I use a different stylist who was a master in color. Secondly Marissa didnât mention the health of my hair that was me. I knew what I needed which is why I went with a shorter cut. I NEVER mentioned ONCE in my review that your salon caused damage. So the fact youâre adding that to this review is irrelevant. I only stated that the haircut wasnât good. The length off my hair was long and to the middle of my back so the cut was all her.
So the only person not being truthful here is you. I ALSO mentioned in the review you offered to make it right by fixing it and I STATED in the review the only way you could fix it was cutting it more which was something I didnât want.    Read moreOne word: WOW. I am the kind of person who is never happy with my hair. I'd go to chain salons and 9 out of 10 times I hate my hair the next day. Usually because it wasn't what I wanted or cut oddly. My husband Raymond knows this and did some major research and found N & CO and purchased the Groupon as one of my Christmas gifts. I needed a cut badly. Can I say, I was able to get an appointment two days later?! It was so meant to be as I was told it is pretty hard to get an appointment with this Rock Star. I saw a ton of positive reviews about Krissy on different sites, so I asked for her, naturally. Boy did I hit the jackpot! Not only was Krissy friendly, fun and entertaining to talk to, she really listened, saw my style example and highlight color example on my phone and went to work! It is a work of art! I have only been happy with my hair one other time (many years ago), so I can honestly say Krissy is a MASTER at her craft. If she didn't like something, she fixed it, kept me informed and made recommendations. How refreshing! To my sheer delight, she was SO happy with the results and was raving over how I looked! Said I looked 20 years younger (lol), which was wonderful to hear - but she was sincere! I have found my new hair stylist and have already booked an appointment...

Time to change barbers and since my wife no longer appreciated my long hair look time to get a haircut. The internet gave me the opportunity to read a lot of reviews and see a lot of styles cut by shops in the area. I found a picture of the style that I wanted my cut to look like. Based on the positive information the internet provided I decided to pay N & co a visit. The person I spoke to was very helpful and the shop very well maintained. Several days later I called for an appointment not asking for anyone in particular to cut my hair. I saw them that same day and it was Norma who I had spoken to and ultimately cut my hair. I showed her the picture that I wanted my cut to look like, explained some of the areas that I had trouble with when combing my hair and she assured me that she would make that happen and she did. My final judgement comes the next time I wash my hair and how it lays. I was very impressed and realized that I had found that, after 35 years, found a new home for getting my hair cut.
