Horrible for car stereo installations! Charged me for 3.5 hours in labor to put in a basic double din Pioneer radio. I've been getting aftermarket radios put in my vehicles for 17 years and this is by far the worst experience I have ever had. First off, I dropped my car off at noon, and it was not finished until 6:30. It was the last Saturday before Christmas, so I would understand a busy day. I would not hold that against them if the work was any kind of acceptable. When I picked up my car it was dark out, and I was being rushed away because it was after hours and everyone wanted to leave. My total bill was 345.00. And I supplied my own radio! $345 was the cost for the radio kit, adapter, and a Sirius antenna. I was taken back by the cost but was stuck with no other options. I left angry, but that was just the beginning of my problems with this place. The next day when it was light out I noticed how crappy their so called installation job actually was. The radio is not properly lined up in the console, and there are numerouse scratches around the radio din. After testing the DVD player I realized they had not grounded the wire for the parking break, which I specifically told them to do. Then after trying the satellite radio I discovered there was no audio coming from the satellite connection. I asked them to install a module for the steering wheel controls, and they told me it did not work with my particular radio. This was an outright LIE, because I have the same radio in my other car, and a different radio shop instslled the module perfectly fine! Maybe they were upset I brought all of my own componets, and didnt buy any of their overpriced items they were trying to push on all their customers. While I was there the owner was even telling another customer how they had screwed up his install, and that he would have to bring his car back some other time. The owner repeatedly told everyone how he had been there for 35 years, but that means nothing. The store is awful all the way around. They will over charge you, and then not do quality work! I feel completely taken, and would never ever go back again! Please avoid this place, do not get stuck in a last minute despirate...
Read moreGot ripped off here a year or so ago before I knew more about car stereos, but I just drove by the place and got annoyed thinking about it so figured I would leave a review.
This was when I had just gotten a fancy new kenwood touch screen car stereo with Bluetooth to replace the stock Subaru one, it was installed at a different place. The problem was it no longer connected to the aux port, and I had other devices I liked to use occasionally that did not have blue tooth.
So I bring it here, some younger guy tells me he can’t connect the stereo head unit to the aux port on the center console, but tells me he can run an aux extension cord behind the head unit that I can plug devices into. This sounds fine to me. I bring it in, they charge me somewhere between $50-$100 to do this. I ask him how I access the aux channel on my unit and he tells me to look at the manual.
Over the next week I spend time looking at the manual trying to get audio to play over aux, no luck. I decide to call kenwood tech support to figure it out.
It turns out my head unit DOESN'T EVEN HAVE an aux port, it only supports audio over bluetooth or usb. The guy apparently had no idea what he was doing, and basically took my money to do nothing. The aux extension is still plugged into who knows what port on the back...
Read moreI felt same way as most reviews until I started to upgrade..they used good components, they upgraded my front and rear door speakers, new headunit, and amp and two subs under rear seat..had issues with system cutting in and out..brought it in but continued..then went to install tweeters and found they used one or two WOOD screws to hold to doors.speakers didn't fit in factory holes and they didn't make or use mounting plates to make fit..they just turned speakers and screwed wood screws to where they would hang out there..speakers were not even tight..passenger rear door speaker just fell out when I removed panel...then I wanted to upgrade my speaker wire to subs so I removed front seat where amp was and found that amp was screwed to truck AGAIN WITH WOOD SCREWS..ONE WAS THRU HVAC VENT UNDER SEAT AND THE OTHER WAS THRU TOP OF 4X4 MODULE UNDER AMP...GREAT JOB!!OH AND BROKE TWO CLIPS ON PANELS...so for all those reviews that are positive,go ahead and actually look at your install,I bet you won't go back..HORRIBLE WORK..LOOKS LIKE A 10 YEAR OLD DID IT...ILL BE DOING MY OWN STUFF IN FUTURE..IM SO PISSED I GAVE THEM MY MONEY!!!
