unfortunately I didn't have the greatest experience going to something blue. I drove over 2 hours to go to this store because I had heard such great things. When I arrived Elanor greeted us, she very rudely said "We don't consign on the weekends." I was obviously upset because we just drove 2 hours so I explained that to her. She then replied " Well before you said that I was going to say I will look at it anyways." she took my Oleg Cassini dress over to the counter, didn't take it out of the bag and turned to us and said were not interested. I was frustrated so I went to the car and started to cry because I had been messaging back and forth with a katie and she was the one that told me to bring my dress in. My mother was with me so she went back in and explained to Elanor that I had been emailing with Katie, She changed her attitude really fast and came outside and offered to look at the dress again. We went back inside, As she was trying to undo my bustle on my dress she was being a little rough and 3 holes just happened to appear! She said we can't take it because there are holes! (side note my dress was in a preservation kit which came back with an inspection with no holes, Also to get my dress out of the preservation kit i took it to a local wedding shop and they removed it for me and inspected it, no holes were found then either) I don't think that she intentionally made the holes, but I also paid a couple thousand dollars for my dress so I am definitely not happy. We did reach out and spoke with Katie, she apologized for the experience and was extremely friendly. she offered to see if she could fix the dress. A day later I got a call saying there was nothing she could do and that Elanor is like family to her and she just doesn't see her acting that way. We have tried to reach back to Katie but have not gotten any return calls. I am just frustrated because I am now left with a dress that had no holes when it was brought into the store. We do have photos of the dress before we brought it in. Just wish there was a...
Read moreEdit: Don't shop here! Just took my dress that they destroyed to another tailor, not only did they take it in too much they cut away the fabric! Or should I say hacked it away! Looks like they used a chainsaw! They insist I let them fix it, clearly think they are more talented than they are, you can't grow fabric back! They also didn't hem the bottom of the dress. There are just a bunch of pins there. Thankfully I didn't step on one and have it go through my foot.
Found a beautiful dress that fit almost perfectly. It just needed to be taken in by the bust and shortened. They took it to tailor it and two weeks later I it didn't fit at all. Two people couldn't even zip it. They took it back and said they'd fix it. Went back a week later and they let out the bust, back to what it was before, so its too big there, again. It is also baggy and bunchy on the sides. Still requires two people to try and close it. They offered to do more alterations and I was too afraid of how much more they'd butcher my dress. So I just went to my car and cried. I don't know how they can even think they did an okay job, as they are using two people to try and get me into a dress, when they didn't have to, two weeks before they altered it. They tried casually blaming my bra, which I have worn every time I've ever put that dress on. $200 dollars and I have a painful dress that I need to take somewhere else to fix. I would not go back for an alteration, it...
Read moreI had the most incredible experience at Something Blue, and it’s all thanks to Maria. As someone with insecurities, I thought I’d have to lose weight or fit a certain style of dress to feel beautiful. But Maria immediately proved me wrong. She made me feel stunning in EVERY SINGLE DRESS. She gently pushed me out of my comfort zone but always respected my boundaries, never making me feel pressured to choose something I wasn’t sure about.
Maria and the whole team worked together seamlessly to help me find what I truly loved. They were so patient, guiding me through what I liked and didn’t like about each dress. After lots of thoughtful advice and a few “aha!” moments, I finally found the one. When I put on the dress, Maria and the team made me feel absolutely gorgeous, and I couldn’t stop smiling.
Something Blue is a store full of cheerleaders, but Maria really made the experience what it was. She made me feel like I didn’t have to change a thing about myself to be stunning on my wedding day. Her kindness, encouragement, and expertise made this experience unforgettable.
I can’t thank Maria and everyone at Something Blue enough for giving me the most fantastic gift: the confidence to feel beautiful, just as I am. This experience was more than just dress shopping—it was transformative. Thank you, Katie, for making this store such a loving environment, and thank you, Maria, for making me feel like the most beautiful...
