Mi Casita is a wonderful place to eat with family! I love their super burrito and their enchiladas. My boyfriend loves their margaritas and their chile rellenos. They always are able to seat us right away and it's a fantastic place to take children or have a family get-together. They have a great take-out service that I highly recommend as it's so nice to take their delicious burritos and tacos home to family after a hard day of work. My favorite dish is the xango which is a fried cheesecake wrapped in a crispy tortilla. It's a fun dessert to share with a loved one on a special occasion. This place was very disappointing. I went with a couple of friends on a Saturday evening, and the place was about half full. We were sat quickly, and our drinks came at a reasonable speed. However, the food came, and a couple of moments later, someone came and took my friend's tortillas back to the kitchen...as though he had received too many tortillas. My chicken tasted almost old, and my "beef tips" tasted like a pot roast. It was revolting. We had to wait too long to get our check, and then there was a significant line to even pay. TLDNR: order birria tacos. I’ve lived in taco town, San Antonio, for a few years and the expectations were low coming in to eat in Iowa…Mi Casita’s birria would hold its own in SA, though! If you want to visit Flavor Town, order the birria tacos! You get some consomé, rice, beans, lettuce, and guacamole…but those three tacos on corn tortillas were excellent! Get the spicier salsa for added effect - it’s “Iowa spicy”, good flavor. I’ve been here many times trying different items and will not order anything else as long as this is available. Well done!!
