Even though this business has apparently been around for over 5 years, according to the reviews left, It only recently came up on my Facebook page so I was looking forward to checking it out but knowing nothing about it. Parking lot is very cramped and I got the second to last spot. Walking in, the first room is furniture, lamps and such, (which I'm not in need of currently), and one pretty dirty sad looking aquarium. Sure felt sorry for those fish. Went into a very large side room with vases, pottery, statues, collectibles, dish sets (including a set that was my mother's favorite pattern and I may have been tempted) rocks & fossils, jewelry in glass cases, to name some of the things, but I noticed right away that Nothing in this room was priced! I asked a gal behind the glass cases how this all worked with no prices on anything. She said, you take the item you want to the guy in the gray sweater on the other side of the room, (she pointed but I didn't see him) and he will price it for you. (And I thought, based on what? How you look, what kind of clothes you're wearing or if you're wearing expensive jewelry [does that mean he might try to charge you more?], if he likes your voice or manners or if you have a resale license? How can he have so much pricing knowledge about individual antiqus in his head?) Anyway, I didn't see the guy in the gray sweater, but I did see where she was pointing - and there must have been 30-40 people in line. So I should spend 20-45 minutes or more standing in line (and me with a bad back and bad hips, I can only stand so long...) with the one vase I was interested in just to be given a price that is not acceptable? This is just not a good way to run a business. After I gave up on that room I spent a couple minutes just walking and glancing briefly at the furniture rooms and decided everything just seemed a bit dirty and dingy, and I am really surprised, especially with the way they sell the smaller items and after reading many of the other one star reviews, some of which have to do do with poor service, I'm surprised they're still in business. As for myself, I see no reason to go back. Too bad....
Read moreAlways stop into thrift shops while I'm out & about. Living in New Berlin I've passed by this store many times never really knowing what it was. One day I decided to pop in. To my delight it was filled with many rooms to explore with treasures galore!! I saw a sign on the door that there was a warehouse sale that weekend. I asked the girl at the front desk about it and she was very informative. I then realized THIS is the place I'd seen on Facebook a bunch of times while searching estate sales but wasn't sure what it was all about!! "For you first timers...this sale is probably unlike anything you've attended in the past. Almost nothing will be priced, so you'll have to pile stuff up and negotiate a price with me. This process can be time consuming, so there will be long lines" So glad I had finally figured it out!! There is a huge room that they only open one weekend/Tuesday a month. If you follow them on Facebook they will usually add pictures the week of for a little sneak peek. I love the sales!! The lines may be a bit long at times..but that is because the owner, Eric, will give you prices before you check out. May not be for everyone..but he lets you know that ahead of time. If everything was priced you wouldn't be getting the deals.. as that would be very time consuming. Why I donated my stuff this summer vs having a rummage sale..haha It's a lot of work. Everyone is very helpful & friendly (including the dogs that may be hanging out with their family) The inventory is always changing definitely...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I went to pick up a dresser after we had prepaid and called ahead to let them know we were on our way. We arrived and when I walked in I just kinda stood there awkwardly looking for the dresser thinking it would have been at the front (it wasn’t) one of the workers (Craig) was sitting in one of the chairs off from the counter and asked if I needed something. I told him I was picking up the dresser and I called earlier and he told me to go get it. Mind you this is a big and heavy wooden dresser and he wanted us to drag it from the warehouse all the way to the front. I asked him if I had to do it myself and he said yes so I walked to the back and tried my best to push it out of the aisle and up to the front. My boyfriend came back and mentioned how as he was walking by Craig he asked why he couldn’t help us and I guess Craig got in his face and told him to stop talking under his breath. Craig and some other guy came back magically with a dolly I guess they had the whole time and Craig then kept egging my boyfriend on about mumbling under his breath and making actual threats to him in front of me. I interrupted trying to keep the peace and I asked my boyfriend how we would get it up the stairs and the other guy interrupted and told us to stop talking and figure it out later and threw the dresser on the dolly and pushed it outside to our u haul. He then proceeded to watch my boyfriend and his dad struggle to get it in there and left. By far the worst experience I think I...
