Mavis Discount Tire — Local services in New Britain Township

I used to go to another Mavis location for many years who I had thought were some of the best. I’ve also had a lot of experience with some not so great shops in the area, as well. By chance, I ended up coming to this location as the other location I normally frequent cancelled my appointment last minute and this location squeezed me in same day. Boy, this location blows the other one I went to out of the park!! Although I was only going for my inspection and to get two tires replaced, I ended up finding out that we were opening a can (or rather a barrel drum) of worms with my car due to the negligence of a local dealership. This location was nothing but amazing. They were honest, more thorough with their work/explanations than I have ever experienced from another shop and worked extremely hard to fix the mistake of said dealership. And I know for a fact it was not fun or easy by any means. They were extremely kind throughout the whole situation and made sure to keep me updated every step of the way, especially if something wasn’t going to plan. In the end, I left with everything in tiptop shape and I can absolutely feel the difference when I drive. I know that they didn’t charge me for anything that wasn’t needed, as well. Fast forward about a month and one of my tires was no longer holding air due to a nail puncture. They again squeezed me in last minute and got me right out so I was still able to get to work. This location is absolutely amazing. The technicians are amazing and the manager, Mike, really takes care of you and your car. They have gained a lifelong customer in me and I highly recommend them for any work that needs to be done on your car. I cannot speak highly enough about...

I have had good service here in the past, but unfortunately my last two visits were not great. I had my car inspected here and needed new brakes. I needed my car so I picked it up and then dropped it off later that night. While driving my car I noticed a noise coming from the back rear tire and made a point to bring it to their attention. Was told it was something (can't remember what) and it continued after the brakes were put on. About 10 days later I had a flat and I brought my car in to get two new rear tires. They were put on, no issues until about a week later. I'm driving on the highway and it sounded like I was constantly driving over a rumble strip. Luckily had a mechanic friend look at my car right away. So TWO BIG ISSUES!! One - my brake caliper bolts were not secured and were able to be twisted off using his fingers - not suppose to be the case. As he was raising my car to check the other side, I noticed the rear tire wobbling (one I just had put on). NOT GOOD! My friend walked over to the tire and was able to lightly tap it with his foot and move it. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!! My car was not safe to drive, and it just so happened to be raining that day - so you can imagine how horrific of an accident I could have suffered if my brakes failed or my tire flew off! Went for a routine oil change which went well, barely waited, then multiple issues with my car came up on unsolicited inspection that I didn't want to take care of the first day in (would have given 5 stars after this day). Called on a Friday to bring my car in on a Monday which someone never logged into their system, then was told they were on a 2 hour backup that Monday morning - which was fine since I thought by car would be there all day for multiple issues. Got a call Monday night that they hadn't looked at it at all yet and would need to hold it overnight - I let this go and figured they would call me Tuesday. No call. Wednesday morning around 9, still had not touched my car, tried to say "we don't take appointments" and a bunch of other excuses why my car was there for 48 hours without even being moved. Did not call me again at the end of the day even with an update. Thursday morning call for an update, the manager (horrible, cocky attitude) asks me multiple times for identifiers as if he doesn't remember me and my car that has been there for three days straight, and calls back 15 minutes later to say it was done last night and "someone should have called you" as if I didn't know they SHOULD HAVE.
