Bagel Barn Cafe — Restaurant in New Britain Township

Lived in the area for about a year and a half and here are my thoughts on BB over the course of that time. By far some of the most flavorful bagels alone I’ve had. We were going every weekend when we first moved here. At some point, I felt like prices went up and portions went down- specifically the lox. I ordered double lox once because I had $5 off and what I received was what a typical lox bagel should look like, so my suspicions had been confirmed. I still have a soft spot for them, but it’s become too expensive. $15 without tax and tip for two breakfast sandwiches means I should be walking out full! I know the economy is trash, especially with food. I would be lying if I said I haven’t found other breakfast joints to go to. What other places lack in quality, they make up for in price and portions. Definitely will come back when the craving strikes. Also, the coffee is always good and they offer more than just breakfast sandwiches so I’m not going to lowball a rating when other aspects are...

Yesterday, I ordered grilled cheese on white with macaroni salad (to-go order) and paid $5 with tax as it is stated on the menu. It tasted good, so I visited there again today and ordered the same thing. However, they charged $6 plus tax this time. When I asked why the price went up only after 1 day, the lady bluntly said the price info on the menu is not the real one and I have to choose grilled cheese on 'bagel', not 'white', if I want to pay $5 with tax. This does not make sense to me. I don't understand why they keep this inaccurate price info on the menu. A lady there was so unkind and unfriendly and did not answer my question. Anyway, after 10 mins, the lady said my food was ready and this is "all". I picked it up and opened it in my car, but it did not come with a side, macaroni salad. Maybe, that's because I have paid only $5 with tax, not $6? When you order and pay at Bagel Barn Café, please double check their price. It is so confusing and a side does not come with...

The bagels are fresh and delicious. All the food is made to order and the place is super clean with a comfortable homey vibe. They have breakfast and lunch type sandwiches that corn with a side of potato salad or macaroni salad. I’m picky about potato salad and theirs is homemade and so good. This is family owned and you can tell they take great pride in their establishment. I’ve become sort of a regular and the owners always take the time to greet me and many others no matter how busy they are.
