We purchased $3600 sofa set two years ago. Actually itāll make two years this December. We also bought the warranty that our salesman highly recommended for an additional $300. A few months ago, I noticed that the sofa started sagging in one area. Upon further inspection, I noticed that the support bar had separated from the seating deck of the sofa. I reached I called Home Furniture & Bedding & spoke with a lady ( I believe her name was Karen) on September 13th, who directed me to their warranty company (this was after I went to my local store & spoke to someone at the service desk who gave me the number for the warranty and told me I had to contact them if I had an issue). I contacted the warranty company explained to them what was going on & at first they denied my claim. I reached out again to Home Furniture stated my claim was denied. Home furniture called the warranty company & so did I. Since we both contacted them again. We I nsisted that they have somebody come out and check it. Finally, they agreed to send a technician out almost a month and a half AFTER I contacted them the second time.
Whenever the technician came out, he stated to me I already know whatās wrong with your sofa. I see it all the time in this particular model. Youāre going to need a new seat deck. Every single time there is a claim on these sofas, it is always the seat deck. I canāt tell you how many of these I have changed out. Before he left, he said I put in the order for you to get a new seat deck. In about two weeks, the company will call you to schedule repair. The next day I get an update on my claims portal stating that my claim has been denied because it is not something that is covered underneath the warranty. So I called the company to see why my claim was denied if their technician identified the issue and I have warranty to cover the sofa. Kathryn told me that it was not covered underneath the warranty and out-of-pocket expense. We could have a technician come out and repair the damage OUT OF POCKET.
I am LIVID at this point. š¤¬š¤¬š¤¬
I told them how in the world is it not covered underneath the warranty?! You guys are aware that this is a problem! You are aware that this is something that ALWAYS has to be repaired almost on every single model of this sofa and yāall refusing to cover it underneath the warranty because yāall are aware this is a problem & yāall are so greedy yāall are forcing people to pay for things out-of-pocket on top of paying for a warranty that cannot be used in time of need! So let me guess Iām not gonna be getting my money back for something that yāall DID NOT fix because I made a claim. The company told me that is correct because we had a technician come out. And I asked her So youāre telling me your technician costs $300 just to come out and stay for five minutes?! This company is a joke! Yāall should be ashamed of yourselves for cheating people out of their hard-working money.
Long story short. I am out of a $300 warranty that I cannot get back. And I am going to have to come out of pocket to repair the sofa that was deemed āNot Covered due to damage not listed as being covered under Plan Coverage section.ā Per their piss poor warranty standards! In total Home Furniture Plus Bedding screwed me out of $3900.
